OK, what port do people reckon is best for Bit Torrent
action. ALL my downloads have started going incredibly slow
and it's really starting to piss me off. It doesn't matter
how many seeds there are I barely hit 30k now.

it usually uses 6881... at least, that's what azureus uses
by default.. but, 6881-6889 are commonly used.

your ISP could be throttling those ports.

I've already changed from 6881. I was fine up until about
last week when suddenly all my torrents were going slow. I
just thought they were bad torrents but it's not, even ones
with 100's of seeds are going fucking slow. I've tried
changing ports but to on avail. Horsefactory has recommended
me a port and it seems to be a faster one so maybe BT aren't
throttling that one. Fucking bastards. CAn't wait to move to
Pipex.

it's good for really large files, like movies, because it's
theoretically supposed to get faster the more people are
involved in the download... and, it spreads the bandwidth
over each of the peers, so there's not one person hosting
the file and getting their bandwidth slaughtered.

how do I figure out if certain ports are slower than
others?

could I do some full port scan somehow?

it's good downloading keyboard drivers, because it's
theoretically supposed to get faster the more people are
involved in the download... and, it spreads the bandwidth
over each of the peers, so there's not one person hosting
the file and getting their bandwidth slaughtered.
