don't delude yourself, you know there's tons of em out there too many. horrible movies. we were forced to watch shrek 1 in 4th year like... about 3 or 4 times at least. it was dreadful. |

i watched the incredibles. thought it was incredible. then i watched shrek 2 few days later, and it was really shit compared to the aforementioned film. |

i thought it was going to be good because of all the great reviews and positive reaction. but no, it was pretty lame. [/imo] maybe watching the incredibles affected my opinion by kicking so much ass. |

that's pretty much it, really. I saw it at the cinema. people were laughing their heads off and I think I only laughed twice genuinely. the rest of the time I was faking it to impress my friends. |

the problem with Shrek 2 has been coined best by a review I read in a Dutch newspaper: this film wants to be liked really, really much. it so desperately WANTS to be found funny. it tries this by placating the audience a lot (and for a lot of people, including my brother and mother, it worked). it's like someone screaming at you LAAAUGH AT MY JOKES!! LAAAAAUGH AT MY JOOOKESSSS!! very unsexy. |

I sat next to a girl who would say out loud what everybody was seeing on the screen. very helpful. she would also go "AAAWWWWW.." at every part that was meant to be semi-endearing. just my fucking luck. |
