has anyone heard about a vol3 in which vivica fox's daughter gets her revenge on the bride for taking out her mommy? ive heard this many times and from many different people but have not been able to find anything concrete on it.
i couldnt say i would be very excited about such a movie though, as i thought vol1 was frigging awesome, and vol2 was just ok - maybe quentin should have just condensed it down to one movie.

WHAT? volume 2 was the better of them. vol 1 went on way too long 2 had more of a movie feel to it. i wasn't impressed by much in one. that battle in japan was long and dull kinda like the type of knife i wish i had so i could cut myself during the scene

yes, because he had to chop up the films and call them volume 1 and 2, he MUST also make a volume 3. AND 4. AND 5. AND 6. in fact, he MUST make as many volumes as there are fathomable numbers!
it is not only logical, it is inevitable.

i think he will do a 3, only because his ass has been smootched for vols 1 and 2 so much, but ive heard some things on the plot and the little girl gets revenge on her dead mommy. but after 3, that will be all - unless he comes out with pulp fiction 2.

He is doing a 3. The date of production in his mind is 2017 so it gives the actors a change to age. The two kids will end up battling. That is what i have heard. But in 12 years anything can change

Kill Bill is great.
As the ending credits rolled in Vol. II, I thought about Vernita Green's daughter, but not in the sense that I expected a "Vol. III". I mean, the title is Kill Bill; the Bride's mission was complete by that time. Still, what about Green's daughter? It remains as a cliffhanger I reckon.

Kill Bill volumes one and two are, as usual with Tarantino, like Christianity - a mish-mash of lots of different sources tailor-made for Westerners who think they're really great, or cool.
Here's a hint - they're not. Zatoichi, for instance, blows Kill Bill out of the water, as do the myriad films he's stolen from since he first forced Reservoir Dogs upon us. In a way, he's a lot like the West - he steals from others and manages to lose the soul on the way. People love him because they find his dialogue hip, or his action scenes crazy and imaginative, but I find it painfully self-conscious and vacuous.
To quote Cyndi Lauper, that's what I think :p

I find that a lot of people who slag off people for not being underground enough or catering to a larger audience are just being elitist and think that they, in turn are somewhat cooler for being intelligent and cultured enough to see past the hype and get in touch with their inner cynic.
I prefer to enjoy my movies than look down my nose at them.

I liked vol 1 more than 2. 1 left me feeling all hyped and two was pretty much story. I don't watch a drama for action scenes, so its pretty silly to expect story from an action movie. Expecially a story that tripe.
Although the martial arts training scenes and the graveyard scene were classic.

Tarrantino said in an interview he will probly end up making a third one about the daughter getting revenge, but that won't be for quite a few years (he guessed at around 20).
He also mentioned wanting to elaborate on the oren ishi story in anime format.

It doesn't apply to me, since I wasn't talking about being 'underground' (whatever the fuck that means any more), or catering to a large audience. Zatoichi was Beat Takeshi's conscious attempt to make a blockbuster. So don't feel the need to apologise.

I thought vol 1 was good, vol 2 was better. If it bothers you that Kill Bill 'steals' from other films... well I wouldn't like to say you don't get it, but that probably would explain why I enjoyed it and you didn't. I find Tarantino's dialogue entertaining so in that sense I think he is really good at it. I think Kill Bill has good pace, it's fun and serious in a mix that I don't think I've seen much before.
The way I heard it was the sequel (or prequel or whatever it was) would be a full animated movie. I remember there being an interview quote. I don't think it was anything more than a floaty idea though.

I didn't say you didn't get it. I just personally find the references, specific or vague, amusing and neccesary to the film, and I'm sure there are many that I didn't understand what they were taken from but I don't really care all that much. Why would you ever watch Kill Bill if you don't want to see scenes stolen from martial arts films?

i'd like to see more blood. longer fountains, covering bigger surface. More attention should be paid to the blood fountains by the cameramen. Like, not less than 25 seconds for each and more, depending on the order of appearance or how good the corpse fought.

naw, Kill Bill is a movie guy's movie, made by a guy who loves movies. it is an amalgam of things Tarantino loves in his favorite films, and it is meant as an homage. He took ideas from these films he loved and made them his own. He may have borrowed, or in the way of Hip Hop music, sampled from other sources, but in the end, Kill Bill is all Tarantino!

There is a difference between Homage and Rip-Off. Tarantino is a rip-off. I'm a 'movie guy' and I don't see Kill Bill in that way whatsoever, so maybe you shouldn't speak on behalf of 'movie guys'. He's copied some fight scenes from martial arts, without capturing any of its soul and spirit. In my book, that makes him fake.

They really tried to market Tarantino as 'movie guy' because then people who watch Kill Bill get to feel like a movie guy too without having to watch any other movies. I think if he had captured the soul and spirit that would have been more of a rip off, in the same way Richard Cheese songs are fun; the soul and the spririt is completely different. But what do I know I'm not incredibly arrogant, I just watched a film and liked it.
mrgypsum - I said that before I saw the Grammy photos (with RZA wasn't it?) but that backs up my point... he always makes me cringe in interviews with his Wu Wear on.

this film doesn't age well. They were fine the first time in the cinema or whatever but now they seem stupid. It's also a pretty stilted, specific type of acting geared solely to a certain type of genre. That is shit, obscure Japanese kung fu movies that Quentin likes so much./

I'm a 'movie guy' too. i guess our opposing 'movie guy' factions will have to agree to disagree, such is the nature of personal opinions. for example, in my own personal opinion, Zatoichi absolutely does not blow Kill Bill out of the water. mostly because of the inexcusably lame line-dancing scene at the end. Zatoichi wasn't even an original character, having been resurrected from a series of older, better, Japanese films. I'm not saying Zatoichi was bad though, just not as good as Kill Bill. my 'movie guy' opinion, of course!
