mappatazee...seattle... yeah i think so.
just looking at that one booking agencyfor shows in seattle
ive come up with this.

4-26 m83 + ulrich schnauss
5-13 the books
5-17 prefuse 73
5-18 autechre

im trying to find seattle music listings/event websites
tosee if theres much else going on around there at that
time.
ive only briefly been through seattle. i have no fucking
idea about places to stay or what to do.
im only a ferry ride away from seattle though.

i'm going to try and make the boston show, now that i think
about it... i've never been to boston & i've never seen

I looked at the Neumos' calendar. Some shows are all ages.
Some shows are 21+ only. Autechre is not listed yet on
their site, so I don't know what to think.

hmm, if they don't play in chicago, which i can't imagine
they would skip, i will maybe go to the seattle show. i am
supposed to fly out there to visit my sister at some point
this summer, and that is the week after school gets out, so
maybe i will schedule my trip for then. that is, if it's
not 21+, because if so, i can't get in anyways.

they will probably play ny between the dc and boston dates
though. not that that helps me, but.

A great deal of Neumo's shows have been all ages lately
(much to my chagrin) sorry, but I hate the fact that if I
want to drink at one of these all ages shows I have to
hang-out upstairs or behind a goddamn wall. It annoy's me
greatly. I'd put the odds on the Neumo show being all ages
somewhere around 75%.

herbwest, i totally understand your position.
im in victoria and its 19+ for drinking, so i understand
your position.... its just apparently im two years less
capable of making mature and responsible decisions as soon
as passover the border.
thanks for your 75% prediction...its encouraging.
also in any case, what is the id checking situation at that
venue and others around there. here recently there has been
a big initiative pushing for doormen to really check
absolutly everyone's ID if they look younger then 30 or
something. its very anoying.
like i guess i mean what are the chances (if it does end up
being 21+) that they wouldnt check for ID if one doesnt look
terribly young?
thanks

Heh... it was crazy... the last time I saw autechre I had a
girl who apparantly was dancing for me and another french
woman totally hitting on me. If I wasn't so hung up over the
girl I went to the show with, I prolly would have arranged
for a place in her bed that night.

seattle didn't have these split all ages/over 21 shows when
i was underage, a tinge of bitterness perhaps. i do think
it's cool that kids can see more shows then i was able to, i
just prefer it when the shows i want to attend are just 21
and over. you can never drink in front of the stage at these
shows, that's all that really bothers me. i like to enjoy a
show with a nice, tall, cool one without being way in the
back or in another room. selfish indeed.

I think the 21+ thing is a pretty shit deal. I just turned
21 in January but I will not be able to take my friend to
the SF show because he's only 20. Whats wrong with the
handstamp method?
