Kay... I just got a soundcard, the Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum, and when I plug my Korg into the midi ports, it doesn't register it as being plugged in. Do I need to download a special driver, or what. I can't seem to find the midi options in the settings, and both the card and the Korg are properly connected.
Thnx in advance :)

I think so, but I have been sending it through mulitple midi channels, and it doesn't seem to work...
You should play with it more. Its a good synth. I want to be able to fuck with the dsp matrix in other forms than those 5 knobs....

I don't know, but I guess i would figure you might need a driver.
Midi isnt a live connection (or so I assume), so it never actually knows when something is plugged in or not (unlike firewire or usb).
Sorry, But i probably havent helped you at all :S

Whats your host application?
Whatever, chances are I'm never going to read this post again, so here we go (I'm not trying to insult your intellegences, so if I get to basic it's because like I have no idea what you know or are doing, please excuse anything that may sound condicending in anyway).
Ok, since its not usb chances are a thingy isnt going to pop up telling you that it works. If its plugged in your good to go. My guess is what your doign wrong is that you arnt selecting the right midi in port.
You problebly have it set to like WAVATABLE MIDI Blahblahblah sound blaster.
Cause last time I check out a SB card they had like 5 or 6 different midi things you could select. Most of them are what you call wav tables, just shitty on board sounds to dick around with.
Go into your Host prog (Queerbase SX, ableton, logic etc), goto your preferences and make sure you select the right midi ports (in and out).
Chances are your korg micro doesnt have to be on any channel to play with VSTs, but if you sequenced something and want it to play back make sure the midi tracks channel is the same as your Korg Micro.
Sometimes too, the stupid cord that comes with midi cards is messed up, like the IN is actually the OUT and vice versa.
Try to get some sort of prog that monitors midi input or something, don't go just by sound, You might not be hearing anything but your computer might be geting messages, meaning that really your korg is working and you actually have a sound out issue of some sort.
Email me if you need any help with anything or whatever. Blargggg i'm going to bed later!

Cheers... will check those out soon...
I wouldn't be posting this question unless I really hadn't tried all obvious available solutions. Midi + gear is new to me
