If things seem like shit, it's my fault. The environment is
not inherently malicious--I have simply made a mess of
things. So if I'm to feel similarly, I would say I'M shit,
not everything. I like to say that life is actually fine,
but humans just fuck it up.

What I mean is that life _itself_ is quite alright; for
example we need very few things to survive, and none are
difficult to procure. I'm simply shifting the language from
one of victimization to one of responsibility. I don't ever
want to feel like some hideous inconspicuous beast is
tugging strings behind the scenes, inexplicably ruining
things for me.

Life is fine. If things go wrong, I can trace some fault to
an action of mine, and hence deduce a correction. What life
has provided me with, however, is decent.

yeah i get that part, but "we need very few things to
survive, and none are difficult to procure" is what bothers
me a bit - not only we haven't got a clue what we live for,
but we need to procure those certain things to survive..ahh,
maybe it'll come to me one day..

I'm bored (heh) so I'll give an example: the condition of
boredom. We live in a world with a ridiculous number of
things to study and find intriguing, hence the state of
boredom can easily be pointed at a fault in one's self. Of
course the environment contributes to this, but the point is
as I stated it previously--I'd rather assume a situation
where I have some options, rather than one where I bend over
and get torn.

There is no 'meaning' to life, except maybe what evolution
has assigned us--to exist, procreate, etc. I think that's
where the magic lies, however--you assign your own value to
life. I have set my own goals (meaning) and am achieving
great satisfaction moving towards them.

yes, i understand perfectly. i haven't been bored a single
hour in the past 10 years btw :)
ofcourse everyone is responsible for their own
actions/states, but why bother? :-)

i see...i don't want to set any goals for some reason..i
mean i know what i want i guess, but im not setting any
goals for now :)

If you really haven't been bored in the past 10 years, than
I salute you--that's pretty impressive. I get bored REALLY
easily but I use it too my advantage--it's a cue to me that
I must either change the way I'm going about something, or
find something else to do.

About goals.. it can be a nasty way to live if you aren't
meeting them (and for me there's a constant push to achieve
more and at a higher pace), so it's good to be careful. For
me it's a healthy system (that doesn't mean there aren't
crap moments of course).

i get entertained too easilly :) there's just too much music
and films to check out to ever get bored (infect there's so
much stuff i want to check out/do that i even don't have
enough time to sleep) i think..
i know what i would like in the future, but im getting there
in a very slow pace, i just hope i get there eventually
hehe.

that sounds pretty good to me =) I know where I want to
get, but there's lots and lots of work to do, and it can be
daunting however I'm currently on track so that lends some
satisfaction.

hm, you seem like a down to earth guy..i know there's lots
of work to do to get me there as well, but im still taking
it slow :)

but still, even if/when i get to that point, i still won't
get nothing out of life except more fun..which is ok by me.

Get a hobby, start doing something productive, set small
attainable goals for yourself.

It doesn't really matter how menial the goals are, just
accomplishing something will make you feel better. Go take
some nice pictures, or clean your house, or draw
something,... anything really.

You need something to look forward to. Once you get your
momentum going things will start to look up.

don't sweat it.

focus on improving your own mood internally. i mean, don't
give anyone the cold shoulder or anything. but, you need to
be happy with yourself first, then others will be more
inclined to be around you.
