Yes, here we are. Something from the vaults of Erowid Santa Claus arrives on the roof and enters through the chimney. The Siberian Shaman (commonly dressing in red and white) would enter through the opening in the roof of a home where a ritual was to be done. Santa Claus (on the Holy Day) brings presents in his bag. we call santa claus bozicek over here. which comes out of the word bozic which means christmas. since christmas was forbidden in comunism we were celebrating new year (although secretly most of the people were celebrating christmas), and instead of santa claus we had other fellow - also white hair and beard, but he was in a white coat and hat and was called dedek mraz (dedek=grandad, mraz=cold). nowdays we have them both i think.. |

no. you are saying they deliberately designed that colourscheme as a marketingcampaign, and urbandlegends.com says that "the jolly, ruddy, sack-carrying Santa with a red suit and flowing white whiskers had become the standard image of Santa Claus by the 1920s". it already was the standard image. at best you could argue that the site you reference doesn't say anything specific about whether they used the already prevalent colourscheme for their own commercial uses. so, at best it could be said that the site you reference has little to do with the argument you're trying to prove. |
