3rd to last radio show of the semester

offline titsworth from Washington, DC (United States) on 2004-12-01 19:05 [#01412573]

tonight on my show i'm playing brand new music from nas,
handsome boy modeling school (w/ pharrell & julee cruise),
melvins & jello biafra, rare tracks from squarepusher and
sonic youth, also prick, dead prez w/ onyx, cannibal ox,
tortoise, aphex twin, k-os, deltron 3030, channels, the
dylan group, cee-lo, curtis mayfield, etc.

begins a little early tonight (a few minutes before 10 pm
EST, 3 am in the UK), ends at midnight EST. i'll post when i
come on.

*** streaming audio link here (Windows Media Player required) ***

anyone who i know is listening gets a personal shoutout on
air (especially if i can use your real name, r40f sounds
awkward as hell on live radio).

this should be the only fun i have before a bunch of papers
and projects are due, i'm sure a bunch of you how that is.

btw, does anyone have any preference for my timeslot next
semester? i was going to get an afternoon show so people in
europe could listen more, but honestly i'm happy with the
response i've received this semester from "my fellow
americans" and i'd like to have a profanity-allowed show for
creative reasons. also i swear i will eventually, i guess
over winter break, upload mp3s of a couple shows that have
been highlights for me so far.

haha... yes, i will listen right after this crass record is
over.

you're playing a jellvins track? what do you think about
that album? the melvins are my favorite band, so i'm
interested in your opinion on it if you have time.

I'd listen if I didn't have to install Windows Media Player
broseph

oh i thought the show was on. first thing i heard was boc
tune. some chick played it.

i'm playing boc first thing but it's probably not what
people would want most

sorry about WMP, it's kind of annoying, but then again most
people seem to have it. good luck w/ your radio project,
jason, i'd give you a track if i were in the music mode but
i'm too stressed out to make anything.

"r40f," if that IS your real name: i haven't heard it, the
station has that cd. i listened to clips and i picked a song
that sounded cool that was under 6 minutes. glad you like
it, i think at some point i'd like to hear the rest of it.

my new favourite track. it's on exidy tours

oh i see... the thing is, i was disappointed with their
album. the melvins is my fave band as i said, and i love
dead kennedys and a lot of the things jello has done
himself... but somehow, this recording just misses the mark
in my opinion. just feels like a rush job. first time i've
ever been disappointed by a melvins-related anything (and i
own every single one of their albums). so i was wondering
if you have been a fan and could give your opinion.

sorry i don't have that cd and to be honest i don't have
room for any requests in my last 3 shows.. i have full to
the brim playlists, i even have stuff for next year... one
thing i can say is that by my standards these last 3 shows
should be some of my best, they're really packed with
excellent music.. i had to make sacrifices, cut the fat so
to speak

oh i love that record. some of the tracks had to grow on
me, but now i really like it. i saw them play on their last
tour, and they played most of the songs off that - totally
intense!

but honestly i'm happy with the response i've received
this semester from "my fellow americans"

It's too bad you can't get both European and American
audiences at their peak hours.

If you get anything 5pm and on I'll be happy.

i've had a good mix of americans and europeans before with
afternoon shows but i'd not be able to play a lot of music i
like, and there are some repeat listeners who seem to only
be around at night. 5pm might be a good idea, what do other
people think? it would actually be 4-6, which i've had
before.

this has been interesting programming so far. was that pop
song gwen stefani? she sounds like the entire decade of the
80's has been mixed with speed and condensed into one pill,
which has transformed her into a hyperactive cartoon
character.

lecoeur's in mexico right now drinking tequillas and hanging
out with chihuahuas

did you hear me during the instrumental intro to the ani
song say "listen to the lyrics?" hehe...
i've not been in an idm or post-rock mood for months, to be
perfectly honest.. maybe it's because there hasn't been
anything decent released in either genre since
'ultravisitor'

offline titsworth from Washington, DC (United States) on 2004-12-01 20:25 [#01412660]

the whole gwen album is like that.. i love it, personally,
but i can also see how and why some people would hate it.
it's really a superficial album but damn it's fun. probably
my.... 5th favorite album this year.

the song i played was "bubble pop electric" produced by
andre 3000 of outkast. it's totally cartoony.

Holy fucking cow you faggot, i didnt even attack you. I
posted a similar fucking picture.

Notice how they are slightly similar? Isnt she your girl or
something? i thought it was fitting.

See how you overreacted to something that was meant to be
playful and light hearted? Then follow it up with your lame
ass comments like "you're so obviously insecure about, is
pathetic beyond words. now leave with your tail between your
legs because nobody cares what you think. bye."

There you go have it. The reason why no one really gives a
shit about you. The reason why you always got into arguments
here. The reason people flammed you.

I am not sure if you fucks are aware but sometimes posters
join threads and post things they may be slightly off topic
as this was. I meant no harm but you are quite an uptight
bitch.

I'll leave you to your precious little radio show thread
where you can continuously bump something that no one really
gives a shit about besides the same kids that only post here
to support it.

Take the dick out of your ass.

Aphex is maddening dickish about his 1995-1996 musical
period (HABs, AB5, MfM, etc.)...especially when he went out
of his way to promote ICBYD and RDJ Album...

HAB was a limited release on vinyl...those types of releases
usually don't get a second pressing (SAWII brown vinyl
another example...)

Agreed. Let him clutter a thread that will lose all purpose
in an hour.

Incidentally, that's exactly why I don't come here
