what a joke. that speech.. all it was was trying to justify
the war in iraq, trying to convince canada that we should
'bring war to canada'.. then trying to convince us that it's
okay to try to force palestine into democracy.

what a joke. what a joke. what a joke.

I like the fact thet he refused to address parliment because
he was advised that he would be heckeled. He will send young
men to die in Iraq but he won't face the critism of his
closest allies/trade partner.

i hate how we're soo dependent on america. i mean, it's
obvious no one likes america.. and especially the prime
minister, but we need america. ugh. ugh.

like that woman who called him a moron and got fired because
of it a few years ago. haha

America is fast running out of natural recorces and in the
next 30 years analysts have predicted that America will
become almost entirely dependant on Canada. That is unless
they decide it would be a good idea just to invade and
occupy countries rich in natural recorces.

Imagine if they did that...............

America is going to run out of renewable drinking water. It
will probably be a very very long time from now, but it will
happen. All eyes will turn to the waters of the Hudson Bay.
They will ask us Canadians if they can have some. If we
refuse, they will find an excuse to take it.

just so you know- the american economy will collapse within
2005. the only thing in america that you could have stocks
in without loosing all your money is gold, and maybe defense
stocks.
i used to have ~10,000USD in an account thinking that it
would improve in relation to the canadian dollar, but i dont
think it will for at least 5 years or something after the
collapse.
im cutting my losses now and just converting it to CAD at
the crappy exchange rate.

its funny everyone is waiting for something fast and
unexpected to happen, whether it be religious zealots, bush
supporters, bush haters, etc..., everyone is waiting for
something (ala 9/11) to happen, but i really dont think
anything that extreme is going to happen - it will disapoint
a lot of people but thats the way it goes.

yeah i mean i guess killing 15000 people in iraq isnt that
extreme, and undoubtedly continuing by invading several
other countries and destroying them and thousands of
innocent lives isnt bad either.
OH , you mean on AMERICAN SOIL, well yes, maybe not.
oh except forcing the youth of your country off to die. yes
friends, the draft friends. i know they said they wouldnt,
well, they lied, just wait.

What was your plan for dealing with Iraq?

Ignore that it was a problem? Keep up the sanctions?

haha well look.
first off, i dont have answers.
is it american foriegn policy to go around removing 'evil'
(as decided by american istself) bad guys from power? when
they are NOT a threat?
well no its not. and if it is, i mean if american is going
to start playing that role, they have a lot of other
countries which they will need to be invading and removing
the people in power.
the problem is that america doesnt do that everywhere. you
can not selectivly do this sort of thing, especially when it
could be argued that it is being done selectivly for
american gain (be that oil, strategic defense positioning).
plus do you think america has the right to decide who is
good and who is bad? and dont try saying 'no one would say
saddam was a good guy', i know that, but i am talking about
the US deciding solely on its own.
this was an illegal action you understand, and a 'war of
agression' (which everyone in the world will tell you this
was, except america) is the worst international war crime
you can commit.
i dont know, dont listen to me, listen to someone more
intelligent about this stuff.
but by definition this is not a war, it is a war crime .
and yes that is a definition held up and considered valid by
mostly every other country, so just cos stupid america
doesnt care about what other people think and bush 'does
what he thinks is right' doesnt make it right. you know he
has repeatedly stated that 'god told him' to attack
iraq/afghanistan, whatever.

did you know the number of civilian deaths in Iraq is closer
to 100'000.

i agree with you. bush did a horrible job of garnering
support for this war, he pitched it as a part of the "war on
terror", which i don't think it directly is (although
indirectly, it is very important), and his ingrained
religious beliefs scare me. support from the global
community is imperative to success in iraq, and he seems to
fail to see that.

however, in this specific case, as bad as things are, i
think the way the world (read: the un) was dealing with iraq
was and is worse than the way we handled it.

Depends on who's reports you believe. Who's considered a
civilian and all. But, yeah, there are too many civilian
deaths. Guerilla war is like that.

not that I really want the bitch in my province, but he
didn't even come to Newfoundland... and more people were
stranded here from 9/11 then in nova scotia I believe... so
him not coming is like a total slap in the face, that he
didn't even do anything...

for the record... the lady who called him a moron back in

other gaffes in public, often in reference to bush and
america... and she was kicked out of caucus 2 weeks ago...
her name is Carolyn Parrish, and she was apparently on

Why doesn't the US form governments and help restore the
status quo in countries that acctually need it. Sommalia for
instance, oh wait a second Sommalia has very few natural
resources.....

I think I see a pattern....

How come other countries don't start offering up solutions
instead of turning a blind eye, doing nothing, letting the
situation spiral out of control then complaining when action
is taken.....

I think I see a pattern....

On top of that you didnt unnecessarly bash americans in the
process. If more debates had posts like that less flaming
would occur.

Well done!

i don't think canada is that MUCH more superior than
america, but i do think that america needs to stop black
mailing us, and using our immense trades and border to
threatened us and convince us that war is okay and we should
help out with it. we obvously don't want to and it's hard
not to be the bitch when it comes to america. we are so
dependent.

whole nation and doesn't know how to operate without the
human fear, cos they alone fear the whole world.
