Are there any programs that are like Peer Guardian. Peer
Guardian hates my computer and eats up processor like a fat
kid in a candy shop.

I'm worried as to why I keep getting this:

whenever I start my computer too. I'm virus and spyware
free....

I have Zonealarm but the free edition doesn't allow you to
block certain IP addresses.

it's not really necessary if you have a firewall anyway,
it's more of a toy so you can look up who's trying to spy on
you. i use mcafee guardian.

Yeah but it's Peer Guardian that's saying that IP is
blocked. Not my Router Firewall or Zonealarm...

Peerguardian picks up some port-scans that my firewall
doesn't, but i might just have a shite firewall. It does
munch cpu speed like a bastard though.

do you mean it's rejecting a particular address time and
time again thus slowing your computer down? mcafee allows
particular adresses to be blocked but i never need to use
it.

I think that would be it. When I first logged on today it
just streamed a list of it blocking this one address about
2000 times.

i ran peer guardian for a while but it never picked up
anything.

i don't do anything too naughty - i use slsk & emule, rarely
any of the others. to be honest i don't really have anything
to hide on my computer.

Get ZoneAlarm Pro then :)

'Buy' it here (not recommended
without firefox, ad-aware and a decent up-to-date virus
scanner.)
