I use norton and it works very well, 1 year for free
and if you reinstall your pc after a year you can use it
again for a year..and so on

you can get it from me on slsk if you like

lavasoft..?

you mean ad-aware?

that just finds spyware, which has little to do with virii.

NOD32

only thing that you'll need...norton isn't that good as they
make it to be,cracks easily,

Yep, nod32 is what you need....does what NAV does only
faster and better. it's not free though, but I'm sure you
can find a cracked version on soulseek.

hmm, that wasn't meant as a follow-up to plaster but I do
agree with him.

Nod32

It's inexpensive and well worth the money. Small and
efficient, does not slow down your PC and does what it's
supposed to do extremely well - keeps winning awards from
the journal Virus Bulletin.

You would be a fool to use a cracked version. "Cracked
antivirus" is a concept similar to "broken condom" and
"expired antibiotic".

yes, I've never understood why anyone would want a cracked
antivirus or firewall program.

a program that is made to protect your computer against the
exact same people that cracked it for you. hmm..

don't install ANY norton products, they do more damage than
viruses themselves

I agree, NAV is particularly nasty and within NAV, email
scanning is the nastiest bit of all. If your system is
configured to check more than one different POP3 account at
the same time, it will quite often merge emails from the
multiple accounts together, just like in The Fly.

Oh yeah, if you find your computer hangs when shutting down
on a regular basis, that'll more than likely be NAV.

i've never heard of NOD32, but actually never experienced
any problems with Norton.

"Oh yeah, if you find your computer hangs when shutting down

hmmm, I use Norton, and my computer always does that... is
it a serious problem then?

the cracked version and the free version of Norton won't
install, the free version of nod32 neither, the 30 days free
version from AVG has expired, (it was already expired so
thats why the problem started i guess) so it seems that i
have to buy me a real version somewhere to solve my problems
with my comp or i've to re-install windows and everything
else, aaarg! or is there still a way to solve it otherwise?
the problem is that some shitty website installed some
spam/virus on my comp that wont go away

and no performance overheads.

try the Stinger by McAfee

you used the sahreware version of AVG, then I suggest you
download the latest FREE version of it (version 7, how much
ago you used the latest verion?), it has crappy icons but it
really works

I don't think it's serious, no. Perhaps just a bit annoying,
but indicative of the pile of crap that NAV is.
