i think iggy's new stuff is totally beyond awful, and i
think his solo stuff is over-rated. however, raw power is
still one of the best rock albums ever. the stooges at
their peak were better than all the ramones albums put
together, imo.

i don't know how to compare the two artists, though. they
have very different styles.

it's not really a comparison, more like personal
preference...they're about the same age, both very
influental, interesting, crazy.. :)

What about Tom Waits riding an elephant versus Iggy Pop
riding Darth Vader?

tom waits on elephant would quickly and easily trample
iggypop riding darth vader long before they could use their
lust for life force power.

Jesus would so lose 'cause he's all turn the other cheek.
But he'd be back three days later going tsk tsk looking all
hurt and Socrates'd be like "shit alright you win stop
looking at me like that".

pff, like guilt works on Socrates, like FUCK it does!

he just would spew out some rant wherein he condemns Jesus
and how it is only logical that he should kick his balls
in.

man.. Socrates would just kick Jesuseses ass again.

Doesn't that picture belong in the half life 2 thread?

qrter - how could Socrates kick his ass when Jesus turns
those puppy dog eyes on him. Awwww, a puppygod. Can we keep
him?

i still haven't seen 'fishing with john' although i've heard
praises about it many times..it's just tough to get it i
guess, coz im sure i looked for it before.

from the films i've seen:
-short cuts (great film, altman directed it, and there are
plenty of cool actors, actress..)
-dracula (only a small part though..)
-down by law (another brilliant jarmusch film)

I never got Tom Waits. I know, I know his voice is supposed
to sound that way, and the music is supposed to sound shitty
as well. One of my friends said: "It's music for drinking."
Fuck that.

Iggy Pop is my choice.
