When i was 11, a friend of mine held a fancy-dress party at some sort of soulless quasi-pub. She went as Xena: Warrior Princess. She had a sword made from cardboard and tinfoil. Another friend of mine went as superman, in a much-too-big costume his uncle had lent him. For reasons unknown, i decided to go as a "hippie". My costume simply involved a home-made tie-dye t-shirt and some kind of bizarre necklace i borrowed from my mum. I also wore jogging pants and flip-flops. Needless to say, i looked more like an overweight programmer trying to be "out-there" than anything else. I didn't have a good time. |
