it could, over the summer didnt have a girl the whole time, but was fine with a good group of friends. however, i jsut had a quick romance and i was crushed and lonely. im just getting over it now, due to some good self-inflicted writing therapy. but yeah, you dont NEED a girl, people just need close human contact in general. go out meet people, find someone you can talk to and that will certainly fill your "void" |

God, why do you so many people feel it so absolutely necessary to have a girlfriend? I mean NECESSARY. They become blubbering idiots without one, and would settle for any old un-special girl, for a period, and the cycle continues. It's a nice thing to have, but it's pretty unsettling to see so many desperate people that can't function or be happy in life without one. I can't fathom it, though I concede that I'm not emotionally ''all there''. I do hope you get whatever you need to be happy, but I think you need to find some other outlet and passion, because a girlfriend is no panacea. But yeah, join a club or a group or take some sort of class or course, anything to get out and meet people. Easier said than done, yes. Saying things isn't going to get it done, so go, do. |

a lot of people have never been alone for any length of time and are pretty much terrified to death of that prospect - they just never learned how to deal with themselves, with the time they have. and then there's the significant group that simply needs someone around because they need a lot of conformation from someone else. |

Yep, and I've never been able to really truly understand it, probably because I'm so far removed from that mindset/emotional alignment. I'm on one mega extreme and some other people are at the other. I can read explanations and theories and ideas and understand why that is, logically, but they will NEVER truly click in my head, just as a lot of people on the opposite end of the spectrum will never be able to see how I can be the way I am. I don't really want to condemn him for it. But I think, and so do you, that he needs something more than a bitch, there's a bigger void there. |
