cat's cradle is great, i also really liked breakfast of
champions (but avoid the movie at all costs)

he smokes like 3 packs a day and he was in a fire recently
(a few years back) but he's still going

Read a bunch of his stort stories in high school English, I
think there was one about some sort of futuristic zoo or
safari. And ''Harrison Bergeron''.

"I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to
make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I
am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off.
I reply, 'The Beatles did'"

A smart man.

I like Vonnegut a lot. "Slaughterhouse 5" is probably the
best overall, but "Deadeye Dick", "Galapagos", and "Cat's
Cradle" are great, too. I have "Timequake" but haven't read
it yet. Also, if you like short stories, he released a
collection entitled "Welcome to the Monkey House" which is
good.

Cat's Cradle is my personal favorite. Breakfast of
Champions, Slaughter House 5, and God Bless You Mr.
Rosewater are all very good to.

He is still very alive, look him up on the net. He's got a
website up somewhere. I've yet to really read anything of
his that was disappointing.

Slaughter House 5 is one of the very few book that I will
read again and again but every time I go to re start it I
lose my copy and have to buy it again.

He has a very "matter of fact" style of writing that just
pulls you along the crazy tale.

I've read Slaughterhouse and Breakfast of Champions, both
great books. His style is so in your face and funny, in a
sort of sad and twisted way, it really sheds light on the
absurdities of society and everyday life. He actually used
to live in the my town, and was a member of the University
of Iowa's writer's workshop, which I'm currently a member of
(I only wish I could write stories as cool as his).
