you don't get many replies coz you speak of unpopular
artists around here :)

download that dr. rockit album (im sharing it)...and i'll
rip the bodily functions some time soon...it's a bit housey
perhaps...yes...

Some real sweet house......... "Round the House" or
something.......... the track that starts off with a girl
(his wife maybe?) leaving a message on the answer
machine.......

"pick up the phone..........pick up the phone......where are
you............" then the so smooth drums drop
in...ahhhhhhhh, feel the love! :)

Bodily Functions <3

He's one of these rare people who seem to be good at every
sort of music they make. And Herbert is definitely one of
the most varied artists I've heard, too.

i love matthew herbert's stuff.

as a few people have said, bodily functions is exceptionally
good.
somewhere between jazz and deep house, yes. but that doesn't
read as well on paper as it sounds when you listen to it.
living proof that house does have a soul.

i saw the big band live a couple of months ago - which was
really good fun. particularly hearing the reworkings of
tracks from his former albums which had a more measured,
electronic feel to them.

looking forward to hearing/getting the doctor rockit
record.

if you get a chance, listen to a track he did called 'café
de flore' for a film of the same name.
sweet, sweet accordeon..

seriously.

yep, that cafe de flore is well sweet!! most of that doctor
rockit is similar...at least to me...a friend of mine is a
massive herbert fan, but she doesn't like this doctor rockit
album much...appart from a track or two. i think coz it's
kinda too minimalistic or something...i love that though.

anyone heard the new dani siciliano album yet? also produced
by herbert...it's quite nice.

yeah - dani's record seems nice. not as engaging as
herbert's own stuff - although he did produce it.
i haven't given it enough attention yet though, so the
jury's out for now. i'll let you know when i get home next
week and get a chance to listen to that (and a load more
music i've amassed lately) properly on a decent sound system
without distraction.

i haven't heard much of it either actually...just sort of
browsed through it. i'll give it a proper listen one of
these days as well :)
