make music and come across a sound that you tinkered that
sounds exactly like a sound from some song by like ae or afx
or boc or whoever?

Gwely: Yes a couple of times.

alex: earthbeakage has more myths around who he is than any
of these other electronic artist motherfuckers.

Yes, he taught them everything he knew...but they forgot it
and made talentless random noise instead.

topic: ALL THOSE AUTECHRE THREADS

[wank] In numerical terms each album by autechre represents
a cart which follows a vector. Also all of the vectors are
approaching a central point which we shall call , from a
differentish position, and with a different speed.

Each vector is 74ish minutes long, and none of them ever
reach the point ae. ae is a limit,
mathematically speaking.

The carts are full of pebbles, metal spheres, and raving
schizophrenics of varying sizes. They are all piloted by
guys called Sean and Rob, who are compelled to take
increasing amounts of ketamine the closer they get to
ae.

ae is also on a mountain, so the terrain gets bumpier
the closer they get to it, which results in a lot of
rattling in Sean and Rob's cart.

A guy from Warp races along next to the cart with a
high-quality mike, and thus Autechre records are
made.[/wank]

Autechre steal Max/MSP patches from German professors, load
in a couple of samples, and let it run for 5 minutes
recording the output.

OMG THEY ARE GENIUS'.
