Albert Camus said the only real philosphical question was
the question of suicide. Why continue to live an absurd
existence, a life in which the world we are confronted with
offers us no meaning? Why do we suffer and voluntarily
continue to suffer?

Wheras i don't necessarily accept Camus' premise of the
absurdity of life wholeheartedly, I do find his attitude
relavent to my situation. I suffer and continue to suffer;
yet i cannot answer why it is that i do so accept perhaps
because it is simply habitual, or i am merely afraid of what
death may (or may not) entail.

I cannot answer any question with certitude anymore. This
is difficult. I am lost in a mysterious and strange
existence which confronts me.

What a wanky topic...the meaning of life is simple. Be
born, eat, drink, shit, piss, sleep, grow, get older, fuck,
make babies, help them grow and then you die.

Where's the big mystery?

well, im into some tough time as well...i can understand
people who decide for suicide now...i always thought there's
something mentally wrong with them, and a person thinking
clearly, wouldn't go that far...i was wrong apperantly...

"I suffer and continue to suffer;

because it is simply habitual, or i am merely afraid of
what
death may (or may not) entail. "

probably a bit of both...i hope you sort things out...

To no end. You do your part to keep the human race in
existance and die. To think there is a bigger plan for you
as an individual or indeed as the human race is misguided.
Sure we have advanced a lot as animals, but with that has
came misplaced feelings of superiority and importance. Our
life cycle is no different than the other mammels...or
development just took a different path at some stage in the
past.

Am I the only one who is utterly perplexed by myself and
the world that surrounds me?? Fuck Buddism if all it offers
is confort to those who buy the precepts it sells like so
much consumeristic crap. Sure, the meaning of life is simple
and obvious to anyone who initially buys into a system in
the first place. Life may be utterly devoid of meaning for
all I know. I am weak minded and weak fleshed. I am without
power. Yes.

Humans are stupid. We have been on the Earth a fraction of

'the meaning of life' is a human concept. just like the
concept that we need to brush our teeth twice a day.

doesn't that say enough?

It's not about self importance. From the point that man
became self aware even in the least the whole biological
cycle has left a percentage of it's meaning. It was
inevitable, it is a fact and we have to deal with it. Humans
are not breeding factories and that is one of the things
that differenciates them from animals.

This is not a philosophical argument to be resolved. This
is life - this is NOW. Do I kill myself? Do I continue to
perpetuate my misery in spite of no hope of resolution? Do i
seek comfort in ready-made religious ideologies despite
their internal argumentation and disagreements and petty
bullshit? I am CONFRONTED by this issue - it is not an
intellectual curiosity.

I don't believe that I am more superior or important than
any object living or non living. I do not follow your line
of thinking that there is no purpose other than the
procreation of our race either, this in itself must serve
some purpose in time.

You are a moron because you are considering suicide when you
don't seem to have a valid arguement for considering it
other than you are bored with your current existance.

Why question my certainty? However in doing so, and typing,

face value...a sad pit fall of modern life.

I was mainly thinking about the "apparent reason" part.

You cannot claim your statements to be fact since there is
no way you can know, just as I can not know if what I
believe is true.

All we can do is live life to the full and wait to see what
happens at the finish line, I hope we can at least agree on
this.

All that will differ between your life and mine is what we
see as a worthwhile existence right?

Why do you feel so threatened? Because I Iquestion you?
You have certainty regarding this topic. good for you. Life
must be easy knowing all of the shit that i don't. I
congragulate you. You knowing stuff for a "Fact" does not,
unfortunately, turn my uncertainty and ignorance into
certitude or veracity. Oh well.

Pathetic maybe to you...but statistically certain. Obviously
man has to find or create something anew when one has
conquered one's previous problems. You have a really
socially limited view on the thing. You use your own
aesthetics judge your opinion on the subject. You hate rich
boys and say they are mopping around but guess what: I don't
think you can compare it to the state of the

there is no indication it is less painfull.

its said that in the last few seconds before you kill
yourself, you're in a state of total mental insanity,
everything is in the middle, you're indifferent to

Camus' main point was that he couldn't do everything,
everything being superfluous, because to be able to do
