breaking news!
http://www.gmail-is-too-creepy.com
still, though. despite all that, it's not really a big deal if it's just for personal use and you don't mind targeted ads. besides...really, EVERY e-mail provider has similar terms of use, and we're all being monitored all the time, anyways. big deal.

I think this another case of geeks overestimating how important their "personal info" (or "life" for that matter) is. What the fuck is the FBI going to do with 10000 billion emails waffling on about Linux tweaks or how to fucking mod your fucking video card so Bofmore's sweat in Legends of the Twat looks more realistic? FUCK THEM ALL.

well, inbetween all the twattery, that could be some nice info to create the idea that someone is a terrorist, for example.

I thought about this, and at the end of the day, if you're on the internet, there's doubtless a justifiable reason to put you in jail. These bastards only have themselves to blame.

I can anyway, but I have proper webhosting and email, not a free service. I can understand why all that space might be appealing to some people though. At the end of the day it's pretty much just Hotmail with more space.

ok ok, me and my logic bat have arrived.
People haven't been using the accounts long--hence they are nowhere near the 1 GB--hence that is not what is causing the appeal. Part of it isn't retarded hype, but also the interface is rather stunning. There hasn't been a new development in mail clients basically ever, but this has some novel ideas. Also, with the key bindings, it's actually faster to use than my rather kick ass email client. It's of course not a mover of mountains, but it is very impressive.
