Has a peice of music, on FIRST LISTEN, ever made you cry or
feel as though you are going to cry?

The first listen part is very important.

from reading you other posts today it is obvious you are
either:

a) upset about something
b) feeling sorry for yourself
c) just in one of those moods

I hope you are feeling OK anyway.

tearing up.

ok, cool. sorry for interpreting it wrong then. I remember
when I first heard Go Plastic by Squarepusher I put the CD
on as soon as I left the shop expecting something awesome
and was extremely disappointed...actually I could well have
been close to tears there.

in mind this is a messageboard i think i cried more tears
than you. and bearing in mind i was at home with no-one to
see me and you were in a shop and probably holding back the
tears as that gignger turd from simply red once said.

Johnny Cash' American IV : The Man Comes Around put tears in
my eyes when the first track finished. When the second one
ended, it was a waterfall on my cheeks.

you damn people always have to bring in your
"significant other" and your "happy relationships"
i say fuckyou.
yes there has been a few songs that got me quite
teary eyed...not exactly to the point of crying, at
least not on first listen. but radiohead's exit music
was QUITE fucking intense for me, on the first listen.

Umm, only one person mentioned their relationship...maybe in
future you should ead before you type.

btw...I have never cried at music because I'm not a homo
clown like these fuckers, also I am too good for you.

i cried when watching the end of koyaanisqatsi, because the
music piece there and the image of the falling thing burning
in atmosphere was such a powerful thing. i also got that
GULP in the throat when i first saw björk live. those
aren't really just because of music though :/ so now lee
can mock me too :o

this is kinda cheating but ill share anyway:
some dog_belch made a remix of a new track of mine
and i thought i wouldnt but when the track was finished it
was there: a little tear
it's not cheating: it's the beauty he added that did it

yes, allot of my first listens to radiohead, ranging from
their early to most recent stuff on the first listen.

another thing that really got to me was that sigur ros video
of all the children playing in ashes.. fuck that just tears
you apart.

on first play, never.

even considering all (not just first plays), i never
actually *cried* listening to music... but some tracks
really brought be close to tears, among others "Ether" and
"Ostia" by Coil... "Hidden Place" by Björk, but it was on a
special occasion... Godspeed You! Black Emperor when sad
too, it's so depressing... i'm sure Elliott Smith could,
too.

Actually, i think the only songs that have brought tears to
my eyes are by Johnny Cash.

oh and that one Pearl Jam cover "where oh where can my baby
be? the lord took here away from me" song.

even though i'm not a pearl jam fan. those lyrics are very
sad.

tears in my eyes at that show too. just so fucking
beatiful. and i am a sensitive fellow you know..

but i cry at everything. i was watching Return of the King
and getting weepy a few times. like when Pippen finds Merry
lying on Pelanor Field. i was like "oh, *sniff* thats so
beautiful man *sniff sniff*"

I am sad homo clown in the vilest sense but when I first
heard "Still life" by Suede I broke down, and I don't
believe I ever got up again. I should think I was in tears
on getting to the end of The Blue Nile's "Hats" too.
