I posted about it in some general movie topic a while back,
I'm interested in it because it's directed by Alex Proyas.

not really, I can't stand Will Smith and it just looks like
another dumb hollywood movie to me when it could have been
so much more seeing as its based on an Azimov book.

Ok i watched the trailer and i must say it really looks like
shit.
Crappy plastic FX and animations.

I like the Björk "All is full of love"/stormtrooper
inspired robot designs tho.

Fuck Will Smith!.

I saw that trailer a few weeks ago.

it looks absolutely shit.

it's fucking "I, Robot" and they present it as some stupid
hollywood-thing, including dumb jokes. which probably means
it will be just that and SUCK terrible ASS.

and I agree - those CGI robots look terrible. apparently
they were made by WETA - the guys who did the LOTR films..
they went downhill fast.. :(

I know, from the looks of the trailer it seems that Proyas
didn't have much to say about this project, cause his
typical visual style isn't present in it. And Will Smith as
the leadactor is possibly the worst choice for this film.

I hate it when people say stuff like that. Like: "oh man you
are such a typical IDM listening intelligent pretentious
guy" just because they don't agree with what that person
says, or that person is dissing something they like. It's so
over--and usually incorrectly--used that it has the negative
effect of what you are actually trying to convey.

it's an extremely bitter response for those who have no real
arguments - it shuts out all further possibilities of a
discussion.

it's on par with the lovely "you don't like this just
because you don't really understand it (like I do)".

As a loyal fan to Asimov's "I, Robot" I was extremely
excited when I discovered that there is to be an "I, Robot"
movie. When I saw Will Smith's name associated with the
movie, I lost all my faith. Will Smith is a horrible actor /
person for that matter. Am I racist? Of course, everyone
is. I don't like ghetto and black humor in Hollywood movies
because it's targeted for the white spenders (let's have a
taste of the black culture! whoo, please) - unless they
refrain from the street talk facade and the ebonics plague
and actually say something original and not just "yo shut yo
trap cracka" (cue the idiotic fools laughing in the
audience), most of it sucks. End of Story. Get creative
people. When I think of Will Smith, immediately "The Fresh
Prince of Bell Air," "Men In Black," and his horrible
hip-hop career jump into my head. How the fuck am I
supposed to enjoy a movie with Will Smith posing as the MAIN
character of "I, Robot"? It fucking sucks. It's a horrible
catastrophe. I will not see this movie. To all those fuck
heads at imdb that say, "get a life" or "it's a movie, it's
supposed to be different then the book," I say - fuck you,
understand how betrayed I feel.

I realize I should post this at IMDB but I'm to lazy to make
an account. fuck the police.

*hopes this doesn't come off like i'm very racist, i just
don't like the generalizations/stereotypes and how people
play along with them*

well, just the fact that they made a trailer that begins
with a mediocre and typical action-flick-joke crushes all
hope they will approach the work of Asimov in an intelligent
way.
