Bleep VS bleep.com

a silly coincidence.
Bleep (a band that I am partially part of) and aphex's
internet site have the same name. Band had the idea first,
but aphex's site is more popular.

Name of band will not change for sure but it might be a
problem in the future.

what to do?

Shut up, this territory is not marked by your scent. It
might be the room you are in so you are gaining a false
territorial perception... unless you really are a moron
whose purpose is to put down people for the price of
anything.

Well, if you're really based in yugoslavia, legality wise
you have little chance of getting your grubby mits on it
(the url).

Also, the fact that "bleep" is a proper word and not
somethig weird like "Yaxadah" would mean you have even less
right to claim ownership over it.

And unless you're very well know in the field of IDM (to the
degree aphex, squarepusher, etc.) the court almst certainly
won't take the fact your name is a commodity into account.

So, what to do:

Be greatful for the hits you site
bleep.co.uk/bleep.tk/whatever gets by "accident" as people
mistake it for bleep.com.

Register "Bleep-theband.com" or something instead.

Your actions must depend upon just HOW partially you
are a member of the aforementioned musical act.

000 to 009 percent ---> Eat an egg.
010 to 011 percent ---> Cut off your ears.
012 to 100 percent ---> Visit a small village.

Following this advice TO THE LETTER will provide a
solution to your terrifying dilemma.

Bleep (N.american band)does not represent RDJ's genre of music (if it
is any genre at all). It does have an electronic flavour to
it. It was formed before bleep.com. URL is not going to be
a problem while the name might become a problem.

I personally do not like the name bleep, and I do not decide
(unfourtenately) what the name should be since I am only a
"helper-monkey".

To be fair, Warp Records pioneered the "Bleep" sound,
characterised by blips and low frequencies, in 1991 with
records by LFO, Sweet Exorcist, Tricky Disco and Nightmares
on Wax (check the still lovely "Pioneers of the Hypnotic
Groove" compilation. So I'd let them have the word "Bleep".

It is still to early to say anything. There is a canadian
band bush and american... same coincidence. One is called
bush x but only in canada because of name usage.

Yeah I can say that I used a zx spectrum command Beep 1,1
while making my first electronic tune in 80's. since bleep
is a synonym I take over the word bleep.
Bullcrap.

Maybe the best solution is to take a cup of tea and relax.

Vert/green-tea please? ;)

Why is any of this being talked about? I think people know
the difference between a band, a music genre and a website.

You mean the board member? :P

And naming the band Coca-Cola could well land you in
trouble, especially if you became big and made music coke
"disapproved" of...
