I got it after a couple of rave reviews, (if you can call an
ambient review a "rave review" heh) and found it to be a tad
boring and tedious, with very little in the way of
interesting textures, I suppiose I "don't get it"

to me.

Keith Fullerton Whitman - Playthroughts.

Trust me....get this album if you are flying anytime soon.

I like it alot. There's so much to be found in that music.
It sounds happy, sad, melancholic, eerie and comforting all
at the same time. I can hardly describe it. I don't listen
to it alot, but whenever I do it always gets to me. Better
than SAW II imo...

Well I wouldn't say a 100 times... :-o

I love SAW II dearly... but I just slightly prefer Music for
Airports

I like it a lot..
It's like the same thing over and over, but it doesn't feel
repetitive at all... Really great ambient-style minimalistic
music. Eno knows his biz for sure.

eno was an innovator of mood, but I have yet to hear any
work by him that's worth a second listen.

also very brilliant is Bang on a Can's cover version of the
entire MFA album. With 'real' instruments. Even though I am
a real Eno nut, I prefer this. So beautiful!

Funkmaster, I agree with you. MFA has so much space in it.
Maybe we are so overfed with permanent stimulation of the
senses, that for many people
much space in it = boring

I thought it was ok but it wasn't nearly as good as people
had been saying. It don't know...the melodies didn't evolve
much, it was too predictable somehow. Predictability isn't
necessarily a bad thing when it comes to ambient but it felt
like he just had some samples he trigger again and again.
It isn't bad, just didn't do it for me.

the space is great I think... it really puts emphases on
each note...

and really, I don't think this is meant for 100 percent
focus on the music you know... I had it playing yesterday
while I worked a bit, and it was great!
