If this isn't the game of the year, I will eat my own hat.

The first Halo had the funnest multi-player of all-time, and
this one just multiplies the awesome by 10 or 20.

Consider- online with Xbox live, 16 players on one map, you
can be the Covenant aliens (with laser swords and melee
attacks), you can use plasma swords yourself, the vehicles
have new weapons and are fully destructable (you can even
shoot off their hubcaps, and the jeep has a missle launcher
on the back for you to sit on and destroy stuff with), you
can HIJACK an enemy vehicle GTA style WHILE someone is
driving it, the environments are bigger and more complex
(Zanzibar looks criminally fun), Master Chief is hung like a
horse, you can carry two different weapons at the same time
and fire one using L, the other using R... crazy. The
environments are fully destructable. You can blow up walls,
destroy columns, and one video shows a guy destroying a
balcony that had a turret on it with a rocket launcher, and
everything came tumbling down. Cutomizable team colors and
logos, it's nuts. Game of the show (after Silent Hill 4!)
for me.

Doom 3 and Half Life 2 are going to have to do a lot better
than I've seen from them to top this kind of fun. Although I
am very impressed with the Xbox Doom... it'll be 30fps and
not 60, but most of the character models hardly took a hit
at all, much less than expected.

Halo 2 is due on November 9th. God willing.

It's not new news to you anymore.

The videos of Master Chief firing a missle at an incoming
jeep and then watching it slam into a wall at 200mph,
ejecting the driver and then exploding, destroying
everything within a 20 foot radius is precious.

And then one of the tires rolled towards the screen and
whoever was playing it started knocking it around. Errant
tires are practically a dream come true.

I don't have Xbox Live at the moment, but I'm getting it
soon. I want to play some Rallisport Challenge 2, Project
Gotham Racing 2, and maybe enter that Ninja Gaidnen
Tournament. Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow, Rainbow Six 3,
and of course, Halo 2. Gonna be awesome.

I play PS2 online quite a bit, though. Recently worked my
way through Resident Evil Outbreak.

I don't know if Halo 2 is the game of the show anymore. I
just watched 3 150MB Metal Gear Solid 3 movies, and I'm
floored.
