There are so many threads like this these days that they are
negating their purpose and becoming nonsense threads.

Cex is working on some new musics, kind of turning the whole
Cex into a sort of jam-band. He has been working with some
of the guys from Nice Nice in Portland. Should be some tough
stuff, according to what he's talked about on his website.

Bjork has the tentatively titled The Lake Experience coming
out in fall. Along with a bunch of more live stuff.

BUY A RECORD PLAYER

offline surrounded from it won't be hard anymore to li on 2004-04-22 12:19 [#01155973]

record players suck.
I mean really. When I was still much more exclusively into
music made with guitars loads of people talked me into
buying a recordplayer, saying vinyl sounds much better etc.
So I did... and yeah it does sound kind of better. It was a
bit more like the musicians were actually standing next to
me. But only for the first couple of listens. After that
more and more scratches and hiss and other disturbing sounds
started appearing. I hate that.

Plus it's so inconvenient. Carefully placing the needle on
the vinyl... having to turn it over halfway through... I
just want to listen to the music damnit :-p

The only real advantage I found was the the artwork looks
much better in vinyl-format. Nowadays I use my LP's for
decoration only :-p The recordplayer is just gathering dust.

kind of agree w/ya there, but those releases that are 7",10"
or 12" only ya gotsta have it

to play the pearl jam chirstmas singles
to play kool dj 12"s

basically:
BUY A RECORD PLAYER

"BUY A RECORD PLAYER"

Yeah well... or just skip on those releases that are
vinyl-only ;-)

I mean do I ever listen to the PJ christmas singles? NO!

Do I ever listen to the vinyl version of Angels And Deamons
At Play by motorpsycho (with a couple of extra tracks over
the cd-release)? NO!

Do I ever listen to my cool Kim Hiorthøy 7"? NO!

They look cool, but they were basically a waste of good
money.

I haven't been a member of the fanclub for a while now. I
don't have a creditcard. But I had arranged with them I
could send them the money in cash. But it was such a
bother... going down to the bank every year to order just 12
dollars (I got really strange looks :-p I suppose most
people order much more dollars because they're going on a
trip)... and then to send it to the USA in registered mail.
And I don't like PJ nearly as much as I used to anyway.
Things all went downhill after No Code if you ask me.
Although that rarities-collection they just released sounds
awesome. Even the more recent tracks are really good. MUCH
better than their recent albums... what idiot gets to decide
on the tracklisting of their albums anyway? It's like they
go out of their way to pick the worst songs :-p

It's probably also because my record-player is locked away
in a closet that I never use it :-D
But I think even if it were on my shelf and properly
connected, I would still just play cd's all the time.
