Anyone else have any experience with it.

Arrived in the office today as we're on the Autodesk
subscription thing. Wondering if anyone had any tips or bugs
to look out for?

I now have 3 fucking versions of CAD on my computer!
Ludicrous.

and about AutoCAD -its stupid. i mean, its only lines,
circles, i know theres loads of options but its stupid when
you need to draw 15 tons of core steel for some
constructions, copying the lines is really annoying. the
best way to use AutoCAD is to have some add-ons, specialized
in different types of drawings, THEY are really helpful

As an architect-in-formation I use of course Autocad
Architectural Desktop and Autocad Architectural Studio.

recycle: Never used that. What's it like?

hyakusen: It's LT 2002. We have 2004 but there's a space
planning module we use that plugs into LT 2002 only.
Add-ons to CAD are definitely useful. The space planning
module I talked about earlier allows us to use the intranet
to report areas of our rooms easily and it updates
automatically. I can change the drawing and the database it
automatically updated. It also allows room reports to be
made a hell of a lot easier. I can hatch rooms on the fly
for instance which before was always an arse. A 30+ minutes
job can be done in 2 minutes now. It's wonderful. The amount
of data I can attach to these drawings is phenomenal.

ymenard: I've never used Architectural Desktop. I'm assuming
it's basically the same. There's all these different version
but they're mostly all the same to me. LT is no 3D. Map has
better GIS capabilities etc...
