I'm on a fast line; it's more to do with the board looking
more adult...

I turned it out off when I was in work for that reason and
I've kept if off since (I look at people's profile whenever
there's reference to avatars).

how about turning certain people off? I don't mean banning,
just filtering.

the good things about avatars is it makes it really easy to
ignore posts by people you've already marked as 'suck'

and besides, on this place there really pretty fun

Just tried it. It scares me.

Could work for work though.

I actually used to find I would recognise people just by
their avatars (well, the regulars at least) and when people
stole each other's avatars it was pretty confusing.

(my new one doesn't look like anything though, i was tried
when i made it o_O just until i make a new one...)

I remember quite well how this place looked without avatars
from one of the old aphextwin.nu versions. Why would anyone
want to go back to that?! Avatars are a blessing!

avatars can set the tone of a persons post for me

no matter how the member posts a happy avatar makes the post
sort of happy etc..
