This is a lonely place... it's kinda scary... I have no idea if these post are only visible to me or if I am the only one who can access the board at the moment (or if these posts will be kept even when more people come back)... perhaps I'm dead? I think it may be the other peoples browser that won't let them connect to the server... cause I tried to connect to XLT via IExplore and it didn't work. My regular go go go browser works fine though (and I guess these posts are the proof). |

can you explain that further... it's probably so... cause I can connect with netscape but not with IE. Do you have any idea where my HOSTS file is? Why do I have an entry when nobody else does? |

If you can connect with NS but not with IE, then i am clueless. The HOSTS file is in c:\windows\system32 somewhere, it binds hostnames and IP addresses together, so if DNS is broken, it can do the work. |

Some browsers cache DNS replies, which can be pretty annoying. Any his simply used the stored IP for xltronic.com when he tried to access--it had nothing to do with his underlying system. I say this is annoying because in old versions of some browsers, after dhcping, I would have to restart my browser to make it understand a URL if I had put it in that session and it had resolved improperly/differently.. |
