Actually, I prefer Punisher to Venom, he's such a good (and suprisingly deep) character. Punisher arcade game is great and the film looks like it'll be good. I was worried it'd be a bit too PC and he'd not be the fascistic vigilante we know and love, but the actor who played him came across as spot on for the role in an interview I saw.

I remember reading several letters from gay readers in the letters pages of comics. Perhaps the large number of gay characters (particularly in Marvel comics) are to cater to their tastes?

Gambit. I'm not up to speed on what's been going on lately in the comic world, but he was my favorite. Awesome 4 issue mini series in '93, too.
And I agree about the Punisher. Dolph Lundgren he ain't. Great character, great comic, great stories. I downloaded a ton of recent issues (I don't know where to buy them anymore!), and they were fantastic. I like the backstory from Vietnam.

Some of those characters shadow their creators private life.
\
I remember in beginning of 90's there was some non-batman stories on finnish batman magazines. There was this lady detective whose son beat one homoman and they started they planned to avenge it. But then this lady detectives dear friend saved him and the climax was that this friend was homoman also.

But venom is the bi product of events that happened in "Secret Wars" , spidermans alien organic costume was found in another universe created by Beyonder.
How the hell would they explain that in the movie ? They can't! unless they fuck with the story and i don't like that =(

oh shit, before i even opened this topic i was like "Tribunal, of course."
or as i call 'im "theLT". i have every issue that he ever appeared in, that i know of beyond Quasar #57 which is in the mail to me right now and The Offical Handbood of the Marvel Universe: Master Edition #33 which isn't even really and appearance. i fucking love Tribunal.
The Living Tribunal appearances are actually the basis for my small comic collection. i was trying to get all the Eternitys to but there are a load more of those. i did manage to get all the of Infinitys (this character is really cool to) for now i think.

Yeah, can you imagine a movie about the infinity crew of Marvels?? I think it's too "powerful" to be made...it would require a $infinity budget....
By the way, have you see the apparition of the LT on the first DC vs, Marvel?

i have all the DC vs. Marvel comics yes. sometimes the guy has separate fingers and sometimes he doesn't. what do you mean by "apparition"?
i take it back i also need Marvel The End #4. don't know if he was in anything after that.
and that movie would be over the top i know! maybe Jerry Bruckheimer could take it on.
btw- i now know what the next Hollywood trend in movies is going to be, boardgame movies:
Monopoly: The Movie Chutes and Ladders: The Movie Sorry!: The Movie Jenga: The Movie Trivial Persuit: The Movie Cootie: The Movie Risk: The Movie
Clue was way ahead of its time.

hell yeah. anyway the DC/Marvel "Brothers" only exist when the two different continuums are compared to each other. its almost like they don't even really exist.
i've heard Tribunal say that he was representative of powers beyond understanding before, and there is load of mention about the one unseen being God and all so i guess God is the highest power in Marvel, but Trubunal is definatley the most powerful Marvel original character.

Could be, but Tribunal is the ONLY being that had only one form on every universe, get it?? Thought, his power is multiversal, not only universal! So, in my point of view, he (or it?? or It??) might be god, by the fact that he has the "final" or the "fair" judgement. Come on! He rules the multiverse!! hahaha
