this week an easy question for a classic poll... which is
your fav electronic LP released in 2003? i couldn't write
all albums released in 2003 so i choose the most
importants.

so what are you waiting... go and vote :)

i voted Prefuse... i hope (and expect) it does well... i
feel bad though, cause i worry that no one will vote for
Bilious paths, and i thought it was really sweet

i voted plaid. That album is the best full album i think ive
heard in a long long time wrt idm. So many idm albums fade
into shite and then struggle to come back again. This one
doesnt. And the DialP cd is an extra treat

there's a plethora of better electronica albums that came
out last year whose names i always forget, but i won't
complain, as you have to make a choice bla bla :)

it occurred to me this week that asect:desect might be my
fave.

't was the biggest surprise to me - as I kind of downloaded
it without much expectation, never having heard any LFO
before.

great album.

I voted for Prefuse 73 because I liked Prefuse 73 best.

I had to vote for Draft 7.30... it seems like its been years
since I heard it for the first time, though.

Overall though, my favorite IDM albums of '03 were Freescha-
What's Come Inside You? and Eluvium- Lambent Material. Draft
might be 3rd overall, no shame in that.

plaid only 9 votes... µziq only 10 votes... that's
incredible! i can't believe to my eyes

as nice as 26 mixes for cash is... i don't think it should
count... none of it is new... go prefuse!

offline WooferAttack from Milano (Italy) on 2004-04-01 00:43 [#01127561]
Points: 12920 Status: Lurker

wow, 200 votes in one week... probably a record.

btw: the winner is... DRAFT 7.30
Autechre won another gold medal, these 2 guys (rob & sean)
are really champions :)

offline DeadEight from vancouver (Canada) on 2004-04-01 00:46 [#01127565]

again, i must register my discontent that prefuse was beaten
out for second by a retrospective compilation

*** FINAL STANDING ***

1. Autechre - Draft 7.30 (51) 26 %
2. Aphex Twin - 26 Mixes for Cash (25) 13 %
3. Prefuse 73 - One Word Extinguisher (21) 11 %

4. Plaid - Spokes (15) 8 %
5. Chris Clark - Empty the Bones of You (14) 7 %
6. µziq - Bilious Path (12) 6 %
__Luke Vibert - YosepH (12) 6 %
__LFO - Sheath (12) 6 %
9. Rephlexions Compilation (3) 2 %
10. Mira Calix - Skimskitta (1) 1 %

final comment: i'm really disappointed about µziq results.
especially Mike Paradinas should think a lot after this
defeat, some year ago he was really an electronic promise,
but final results are against him.

and what about plaid? spokes it's a great album but it got
only 15 votes. it's a misery...

chris clark is tha man, he was better than old electronic
legends as LFO, LUKE VIBERT and PLAID... incredible! well
done Chris.

prefuse73? for me it's a surprise anyway after these results
i will buy new album for sure... now i'm curious.

rephlexions: simply a disappointed compilation.
