the whole of chiastic slide has that vibe.

although the word vibe has almost no meaning to me.

Just listen to the album chiastic slide. tewe is on it, all
of the tracks have a similar kind of feeling. I've seen that
video, it is wicked. Interesting use of the song.

i wouldnt say that if you even think of yawning thats one
thing, but if you actually yawn, you will probably be
decapitated, hense never able to come to hear again :0(

some autechre songs have to grow on you, like a bad fungas

Yeah, I used to think they were boring too, but you just
have to understand what they're doing. Give it time, and it
will blow your mind.

ok maybe your right ..... i mean just because a while ago i
wasnt digging doesnt mean that i cant rediscover it and
maybe appreciate it now..... so in saying that i need you
guys who know autechre's music well to help me out..... so
somebody give me an idiot guide to all that is autechre and
even better yet give some advice in what would be a good
autechre mix..

Aphex Twin - Metal Grating (or SAW2, CD2, Track 3... they're
supposed to all be untitled aren't they?)

I think that song has a sort of similar vibe.

i just wanted songs from autechre in the same vibe as tewe

I just typed up a huge thing for you.. but I deleted it.
FUCK!

Anyhow, get Chiastic Slide.. Tri Repetae is another good
starting place, then depending on what direction you want to
go, either the more abstract Confield and most abstract
Draft7.30, or the more grounded LP5 or EP7.. their sound
becomes more abstract as their carrer goes along.. so you
could just find a point chronologically to drop in at.

our site has an extensive discography. you can check out a
minute long sound clip from nearly every track on everything
they've released here

I can't think of any two autechre songs that sound similar.
If you want more Tewe vibe, Metal Grating is good. If you
want to get into autechre more, pick a random song from
several of their releases spread across their career. If you
find one you like, focus on that era. Sounds like you should
give Chiastic Slide a good listening to as well as Envane
(track 4 rules) and the Cichlisuite ep.

i think confield was the one that i listen to and gave away
(pretty sure) .... how about specific tracks (like a idiot
guide to autechre mix or something)

offline kc from Vancouver (Canada) on 2004-03-03 10:35 [#01097369]
Points: 335 Status: Regular

alright.

Draun Quarter
Cipater
Cichli
Calbruc
Yeesland
Pencha
Krib

None of those will sound like Tewe, or even like each other
for that matter, but they're probably the easier tracks to
enjoy from those particular releases. Give them a shot.

confield is pretty late in their career, and not very
accessible to the newcomer in my opinion. I'm not surprised
you didn't care for it too much.

I mean, I guess I could sit here and throw down some
arbitrary song titles and such, but just going off the one
track you mention my suggestions would be hit or miss.. just
go to the discog and check out some samples yourself.. There
isn't really a Best Of Autechre CD or anything. Users rate
the tracks in the discography, so maybe you can go through
and just check those with the highest rating.

from what it seems your right i probably want something in
more of that tewe style but who know maybe something else
might hit me... i mean damn i was shocked to come to find
out that autechre was the one that the intro song in that
skate video i saw.....i mean since ive started this post ive
had tewe on repeat the whole time....

kc gave you some good suggestions there, but really you'll
find it most rewarding to get into whole albums rather than
miscellaneous tracks. You could try checking out their
"radiomix" which is a mix they did of a load of rare remixes
and stuff, it's very varied and quite accessible.

Chiastic Slide is unbelievable. Tewe isn't even close to one
of my favorites on there... and that says a lot about the
album because I LOVE Tewe.

Yes, Chiastic SLide is genius. anyone who has not heard it
needs to now.

Soulsseek is a good source. And I feel anyone's pain with
28.8k!! :) I am too.

Cipater
Cichli
Tilapia
Recury
Nuane
Draun Quarter
Inhake 2
Drane

these are some good songs for this mood.

I think Tewe is pretty unique... but all of Chiastic Slide
is good... and LP5 is even better in my opinion... both are
kinda different... Chiastic Slide is real dirty sounding,
and LP5 is pretty clean... but both are good!
