'tis an average release. It does nothing much for, and I
even find parts of it completely unbearable or unfinished.
Yet parts of it have that sparkle, and a razer sharp
experimental edge.

ha ha I can remember you posting that you had exactly
figured out how they made that record and how easy it was.

that was funny.

If I hadn't heard Netlon Sentinel, I don't know how much
longer it would have taken me to get into autechre. Until
that point I found ep7 and confield (the only releases I
had) unbearable. After it, I wanted to hear everything they
had ever touched. I've been collecting since then :)

Thank you ep7!

This album is awesome. I have always loved it. It did take
me a long time to "get" zeiss contarex, but man, that has to
be the best track on this release.

I want to see what the frosted case looks like.

I have the Nothing release and the disc is completely white
except for the black ring with copyright info in the center
and..... there are little black specs in the white area. I
bought the cd used so I still don't know if the disc is
dirty or if the black specs are actually printed on. I can't
scratch them off. Can anyone confirm them?

zeiss contarex and netlon sentinel are both in

made a list of my top 20 tracks)

A really good one from Autechre. I've been popping this one
in a lot as of late. All the songs are well rounded and the
quality of the sounds blow me away - it sounds like it's
beaming in from some well defined AM frequency. Fucking
sweet!

I rarely pop this cd in because it requires a mood I have to
be in that I find is one of my least accessable idm moods.
When I am in this fickle, wildly transient state however,
I'll listen with acute detail and marvel at the wonder that
is 'ep7'.

Portions of 'ep7', rather. There are a few tracks on here
that are so forgettable I don't even realize I'm picking up
my remote and skipping them.

I just may be in the mood tonight. Chances are I'll stare at
my cd rack as I always do on a cold monday night,
contemplating what album could soundtrack my dull online
evening. I'll probably skim past and put in Chiastic Slide.

To me this is one of the highlights of their catalogue.
Perhaps even THE.

this album definitely took its time with me. i used to hate
it. then slowly, from getting into their other stuff, i gave
it another go, and now its currently my favourite autechre
album/ep. pretty much all the songs are of awesome quality,
and there are some songs which are just beyond brilliant.
i'm not sure how much of this is like, generative bla music,
but alot of it sounds really melodic and sounds like effort
was put in..

I think EP7 and LP5 sound great back to back... Pretty
wicked that EP7 has a track (or noise) if you rewind it back
before track 1.

I agree with this. Personal preferance, but it's far better
than most people give it credit for I think.

Plus this sounds very little like LP5 for the someone that
mentioned it.

just the fact to have the hidden track before the first
track makes ep7 unique

plus if you think that its duration is equal as a full
album

tired and ep7 just carried me along..........
