Got my tickets.. first showing in about an hour. They're
showing every part of the cycle here at the local theater
this week.

Anyone else had a chance to see the entire series?

It's on at my local arthouse cinema the week after next, but
it's a bit inconvenient for me to be able to go see it over
3 nights.

I'm off there to see Kitchen Stories tonight, followed in
the coming weeks by The Five Obstructions, 21 Grams and
Zatoichi :D

They showed the lot at my local arthouse cinema too... I
only found out about it a day after the last film ended.
Gutted was not the word.

Anyone know if any FULL films are coming out on DVD? I've
already seen the 31min version of "The Order" from cremaster
3 - a present to my girlfriend on valentine's, would you
believe, she loves it :D

I doubt it - I believe there are only 10 or so of the entire
cycle in existance - I''ve heard of prices well into the
Million $ mark...

I know the NY MOMA has a full copy of the DVDs on display...

Yeah from what I understand, barney hand dubbed laserdiscs
of the videos and created sculpture to go with them. This is
why the selling proce got so high for the copies. Havent
heard millions, but I have heard hundreds of thousands..

Cool, I saw that 2 weeks ago. It reminded me of qrter.

And don't get me wrong. I really enjoyed watcing Scarlett
Johansson for 2 hours.. but she did not close her mouth the
entire film!

Then there was the scene where Vermeer is finally painting
her and he says.. "Open your mouth". I thought I was going
to laugh out loud. Other than that I liked it ok. Costumes
were absolutely beautiful.

we dont go to many indi films, probably should
we did see pi there, and glad i didnt see "requiem of a

i saw it on the big screen

Ive seen all the Cremaster flicks in cinema here in Iceland
and they are pretty decent works.

The scene when they were squeesing the stuff from his
prostate gland or whatever was pretty cool. As was the whole
final climbing act in Cremaster 3. And visually the scene
from football stadium was very good.

I think Cremaster 2 and 3 were the best. Matthew Barney is a
pretty cool guy taking the chances that he did, althought
collectively the Cremaster series dont quite manage to
describe the whole universe Barney intended it has some
truly amazing scenes. Well worth a look.

1) I'm glad Lincoln has an independent theater.

2)whats Cremaster about ?
Good Question. It appears to be a 9 hour metaphor for the
point at which a fetus becomes either male or female.
