I agree, every time I want to post a link I have to go to
the FAQ copy and paste because I'M too lazy to remember the
code. Also editing would save a lot of time and
misunderstandings.

Look, just because Watmm is down, doesn't., mean we should
change this board to make the refugees feel at home! ;)

btw... for a fast-moving messageboard like this one, it
would be quite a mess. imagine people changing their text
and people responding to the old text...

i this those features are useful mate,

did i mention watmm in my post?

offline JAroen from the pineal gland on 2004-02-18 08:13 [#01078534]

or maybe just a button to add some extra text to a post
instead of having to post some more

good point, that would cause a mess, how about the links
though. Couldn't there just be a button that would insert
the empty link code into the message?

you could put an edit button with a maxim time limit of 1
min that wouldn't cause much trouble.

No, but other "Watmm refugees" who have been here a lot more
since it went down again, have also made comments regarding
the UI being lacking things they regularly use there. Sorry
for bringing it up though, I don't like the whole watmm vs.
xlt debate and I like folks at both sites. I shouldn't group
you all together just because you're from "over there" :)

Personally, I find the pure, minimal and functional
buttons/features here perfectly adequate and aesthetically
pleasing.

i'd keep it like it is now
i like the minimalism, it's the reason i post over here and
not at watmm (and such like boards)

You make it look so simple, but what happens if you don't
own a keyboard? So far all my posts are made up of bits of
other posts, cut, copied and pasted. GIST!

the unused black bar at the right of the MB, which is about
1/3 of my screen.

i like not having the ability to edit, because it forces the
posters to think about what they post before they post it,
and if they don't-it makes them look like an idiot,
especially when they make another post indicating which word
they left out or what they spelled terribly wrong. it is
sometimes very funny to me.
