...if Norton and MacAffee created most of the destructive
virus' by hiring 3rd party hackers? Then a week later they
released software updates that nullified the virus
completely as long as you purchased the software update?

wouldn't it be funny if a small software company renamed an
existing operating system (that works) and sold it to OEM
manufaturers, and then started making more and more
operating systems, each one getting gradually worse, with
more security holes and flaws...what if......then they made
it so that you HAVE to use their product?

what if they out these holes in there on purpose so that
they can sneak around your machine, and look at all your
stuff, all your data.

they'd have power

haha.. nice... hey, is there a reliable way to emulate
macintosh OS's so I can run Motu's Digital Performer on my
computer? Why'd those bastards have to only make it for
mac... damnit.

heh

sorry mate, but i think the most an x86 chip can emulate is
a mac se (which is about 20 years old, runs System 7.6)

they make Virtual PC for PC's (sounds kinda dumb, but
actually quite useful) but there area couple of Mac
emulators out there.

Like I said though - you're never gonna get a decent
emulation of a G3 chip.

VPC for Mac emulates a PII 500MHz, and I've allocated 384MB
RAM to my VPC. I've got MS-DOS 6.22/Windows 3.11 and Windows
Me installed also

SoftMac for Windows

this one looks promising - aparrently capable of emulating
Mac OS 8.1

but it doesn't give much tech specs on the emulated
machine..Says that it can run at close to your x86 clock
speed, but I don't believe that.

MOTU made DP for OS 8 i think?

you're nearly right. what usually happens is that they find
out who's written the virus/hacks and employ them to make
their software better
