Damn, this EP is good! Are there any other releases by
Balil? Except his contributions to Plaid and Black Dog?

think you'll find some Balil on old ART (applied rhythmic
technology) compilations. but i think a lot of Balil's
output ended up on Trainer.

Who are/is Balil out of the Black Dog? Balil is also on
Black Dog Productions (Black Dog) - Bytes.

one half of plaid. there ws a lot of
underground/"unreleased" stuff. i have a bootleged CD of
Balil. its got 13 untitled songs and the only two that
soound familiar are reworkings of parasight and 3/4
heart(bytes). all the rest are kick ass BDP sounding tracks
ive never heard, and i have damn near everything by
BDP/plaid/etc.
the guy that gave it to me a couple years back said it was a
bootleg of a rising high black dog collection that never got
released because of warp buying the right to it. so it ended
up getting canned. very good quality too.

Yo...any shot I can get a copy of that bootleg!? I could
send you some $ or something? I am really really interested
in hearing that.

As for Parasight...yeah that's Handley's only "true" release
but he has done some stuff on the ART label. I am glad you
took a liking to that EP for the song 'Parasight' is the
best Acid song ever IMO. I made a thread a few months back
on Parasight if you want to dig it up...there's some good
information on there I believe.

Maybe we can work something out....
the thing that pisses me off about this album is that
everywhere i have tried ripping the songs and no matter what
program i use, about 70 percent of the tracks end up have a
"tick" at the begining. but its not on the actual cd.

A guy told me to copy it on to another cd using a Home audio
burner, then rip it to mp3. he said there shouldnt be a
tick. maybe i'll give that a try.

Yeah...I'm close to ya. So...hopefully we can work
something out then...should be much easier. Please let me
know if you are able to.

I'll check it out soon, i know someone that has a home/stand
alone burner.
You a big BDP fan? i missed out on anauction the other day
on ebay for a copy of the unreleased Trainer 4x vinyl. man i
was fucking pissed. it sold for so cheap too! thats the only
BDP/plaid etc. release i dont have. i even have the ORIGINAL
parallel and temple of transparent balls! virtual was the
hardest to aquire though, 150 for the 12". still hurts.

Its nice to see someone that appreciates BDP. nobody really
pays them any attention. nobody really talks about plaid
that much either. pity.

The Black Dog.

Yeah..me and Phobiazero are huge Black Dog fans. I've said
it I don't know how many times they are overlooked by 7\fx
and AE. TBD was making music before both 7\fx and AE. Oh
well...I guess no one really knows or cares how influential
they were.

I was looking at the 4X12 Trainer a month or so back....I
was drooling over it...but it was sooooo expensive lol. I
hope in time I'll be able to get a lot of the early 12's and
whatever else.

I wish I could get intouch with Ed...I've seen Plaid live a
few times....but they have yet to come out after they got
done playing....plus I don't want to be some weirdo and go
up and start asking them things. But...I'd love to see Ed
produce some more Balil music with that wonderful early 90's
sound he has.

Ebay my good man...I've seen numerous 'Parasight' Cd's for
sale on there the past month. It'll run you about $35-$50
USD though.

essentials....

I have a weird feeling the song "Island Praise" that me and
Plaidzebra were trying to figure out might have come from
that bootleg of unreleased material. It's like a cross
bewteen Island/Uland and runs a little over 9 minutes.
Here...I'll bump my old Parasight post.

Go check out that Parasight thread I bumped. The song is
called "Island Praise" according to Plaidzebra. I dunno...I
would not be surprised if that song is on
there....especially if there's different versions of
Parasight and 3/4 Heart.

i just got home and read that other thread. two things, 1, i
cant find island praise anywhere for d/l. 2, i remember my
friend telling me something about an island reworking on my
cd. theres one song that comes to mind on the album that
HINTS at being an island derivetive. and its about 9:30 from
what i remember. i might be able to get some kick ass rips
of the album in a little while. i have itunes now since i
got an ipod, and ive never tried it with that...if that
doesnt work, i'll have to see about my friends home burner.

anyone want to hook it up with some island paradise?

As for Island Praise...I got iton mp3. Do you have soulseek

The Trainerx4 did never reach the reserve price (highest bid
was £62), so maybe the seller will put it up later? Has
this Balil-guy done something lately? Strange if he released
this kickass-ep ten years ago, and was contributing to Plaid
and TBD, and then just disappeared...

Ed Handley is still in Plaid, isn't he?

My fave Black Dog track is 'Nommo'. I'll have to go put it
on now, dammit.

sounds too good to be true.
intruder, if you ever happen to be able to make a good rip,
be sure to bump this thread again...or any other

Aaah. Silly me. I used Discogs and there was no direct
connection between Balil and Plaid.
