I'm working for you. I'm scanning an exclusive italian interview to BoC (dated March 2002, from Rumore magazine) where they speak about music, etc...
There's another page where they say things they like and thing they don't like.
I'm scanning the music equipment of various laptop artist (laptop, software, etc... dated always 2002 so a little bit old)
Maybe could be interesting for some musician between you.
Everything from my WooferAttack's archives.
I'll made some transaltion for you and maybe Tolstoyed could help me.

i just checked the interview rell quickly and found out that MHTRTC was sold in 100.000 copies.
this is probably one of the most well known electronic releases ever and it was sold only in 100k??? sad, sad fact.

it is, but you can find that album on every (probably) electronica top 10 list, so that would imo mean that other less known artist get sold in much smaller numbers, which is really sad in a way.

True but that is the way with this kind of music, it's specialised so you can't expect it to sell to much.

yeah, it's a shame so little people know about this stuff...
anyway, here's another fun part:
-things that boc like:
.things that sound a little "un-tuned"(not sure what's the right expression)
*space odity by david bowie *god only knows by beach boys *wonderful world by louis armstrong *tomorrow never knows by beatles .things that sound "tuned", progressive rock and kung fu (?):
*devo *aphex twin *cocteau twins *nitzer ebb *incredible string band *wu tang clan then there's a part i don't understand fully, but it says something about some robot who is singing songs?? weird hehe, and they also like those tunes you can hear in luna parks.
-things that boc dislike:
*electronic devices that don't work *meat *napster (i bet they dislike soulseek thses days :) )

Yes, there are plenty of "normal" acts like rock bands and dance acts who'd love to sell 100,000 copies of an album.

im sure about that, actually the majority of them don't sell that much. but when you compare best selling rock albums and best selling electronic albums there is a huge difference.
