Aaltopiiri:

It's going down to -26c in Montreal tonight - spozed to be
-38c with wind chill. Even in my warm house I can feel the
cold pressing in on me - like I have some kind of Canadian
organ that detects when it's dangerously cold out.

My choice of music for this freezing cold night is Pan
Sonic's Aaltopiiri. It sounds like breath freezing in midair
and brittle, snapping ice.

I love the titles - kindly translated by Neetta:

01 Ensi - the first

02 Vaihtovirta - alternating current

03 Toisaalta - on the other hand

04 Johdin - conductor

05 Kuu - the moon

06 Aainpaa - magnetic head

07 Arvio - the estimate

08 Liuos - solution

09 Ulottuvuus - dimension

10 Hallapyydys - the frost catcher

11 Reuna-Alue - the border area

12 Valli - wall

13 Kone - machine

14 Johto 3 - wire 3

15 Murskaus - crushing

16 Rasite - encumberance

17 Kierto - turn

The song Vaihtovirta is probably the most immediately catchy
and accessible track.

I'm surprised Mike Bullard didn't turn up - though he is
likely not the kind of organ you had in mind.

well, no wonder. You first have to find a Canadian willing
to have sex with you first. Just having a wishlist wont get
you anywhere.

you have organ but no computer or calculator...is this just
the urge of having something with keys or you actually use
it?

Reuna-Alue is a fucking amazing track. It's like being an
ice miner, and lying down for a nap in the ice tunnels
bundled in your warm snowsuit and off in the distance the
other miners are working the ice with their tools.

Shyeah, Like that would ever happen - the ice miners are
tough little bastards, like little fireplugs with fists and
cigarettes, and they don't nap. They drink till they pass
out but they don't nap.
