Ok, so I haven't seen one of these since we've changed to
2004, and damned if I'm searching... so officially, what is
your favorite releases of 2003?

I gotta say boys and girls, just off the top of my head I
would have to pick these:

Prefuse 73 - One Word Extinguisher
Four Tet - Rounds
Plaid - Spokes

those are fantastic... So what's yours?

my number one album of the year is One Word Extinguisher...

good stuff man... I'm listening to it now, and it's just
damn fantastic... really funky, melodic and gorgeous, with a
bit of IDM style wierdness mixed in...

The Beatles- Let it Be Naked was the best music I've heard
all year, but it wouldn't be fair to their inferiors if I
included them, so I give the title to-

Freescha- What's Come Inside You?- so playful and so
beautiful.

Runner ups would probably be-

Ulrich Schnauss- A Strangely Isolated Place
Aluminum Group- Happyness
M83- Dead Cities, Red Seas and Lost Ghosts.
The Lucksmiths- Naturaliste
The Coral- Magic and Medicine
Autechre- Draft 7.30
Belle and Sebastian- Dear Catasrophe Waitress
Lexaunculpt- Blurring of Trees
The Pernice Brothers- Yours, Mine and Ours
Chris Clark- Empty the Bones of You

I think I liked 2003 quite a bit better than 2002.

2003...

maybe if people hit this thread up nice, and good... and
then maybe take the ten most mentioned albums, and throw
them into a poll...

Jaga Jazzist - The Stix (simply wonderful)

Ae - Draft 7.30 (seems as addictive as bitter chocolate)

Type O Negative - Life Is Killing Me. i really don't care
if it's mainstream, i just love this album of beautiful
catchy melodies and great production, as anything else
they've done before... i think this release proved once
again that Peter Steele is one of the best melodic masters.
