Best Album of 2003

Seems that 2004 was really a dry year with average type
records. Nothing seems to stand out and smack you in the
face.

Also Biffy Clyro deserve a mention. And Minus' Halldor
Laxness.

I thought Bilious Paths was awful. It often sounded
like a bad imitation of Venetian Snares. And Venetian
Snares' music is bad enough..

Here's another vote for M83's record.

I would agree that 'Billious Paths' was certainly not Mike
P's best record but if I was honest his sheer melodic
quality still out does a lot of others IMO.

its hard to tell really, there are so many releases i bought
last year that were released long before that, its difficult
to say when they were released, and im not gonna look
through my collection right now and scan the small print on
covers for the dates...

REFLEX:
I haven't heard the new Gorerotted. What label is it on? I
heard "Mutilated in Minutes" a while back and it was pretty
sweet, so I'm interested in what they're up to.

And the new Six Feet Under is so bad! How can you like that
mediocre shit?!? I hadn't heard them before (I'd heard the
name obviously, but never looked into them due to the amount
of bad things I'd heard) but I was given a promo copy of
that album in preparation for a brief phone interview I did
with Chris Barnes. Needless to say, the disc confirmed my
suspicions. It's so goddamned boring! The riffs are simple
as hell, the drumming is slow, Barnes' vocals are very weak
and the lyrics are even more retarded than his usual fare.
The interview with Barnes was entertaining. He admitted
that he'd never written any lyrics while NOT under the
influence of marijuana, that he thinks dogs are called that
because they come from god ("Just switch the letters
around"), and we indirectly insulted each other a little.
It was good times.

I reckon a tie between P73 - Extinguished Outtakes (I always
think of it more as a short album than a long EP) Plaid -
Spokes, LFO - Sheath and Dirqual - Tolerable Cruelty
