reminds me AE a little which is good coz ive had enough this drill n bass mess lately
if you want to make music i suggest you to go in this direction

personally im big fan of Ae, bigger tha AFX fan i think that going in Ae direction is most creative thing that you can do - theres a lot of inspiration which comes from them, i doubt that you can find better inspiration on any other album of any other artist
but this is only "IMO' thing

I'm more an AFX man myself but I'm still loving the æ fellas.
Their stuff blows me away on a different level to AFX. There was an æ comparison to another track I've done that I made some kind person listen to earlier in the well. I think I'm listening to too much of them :D

for once I can actually see the comparison with autechre - old autechre, that is. kind of around garbage e.p. time.
I like the beat thingy, although it does seem a bit autonomous of the melody that drops in.
nice development - didn't see that one coming!
BUT for me it could've stopped at 2:00 - you're just repeating and layering ideas by then, which doesn't work as well.
so - nice work up till the 2:00 mark. :)

Cool stuff, definitly see the early ae similarities
I like the crunchy beats, the transition part with the heavy bass line.
The melody is definitly a bit apart from the rest of the track, probably could be fixed with some mastering and upping the level on it over the drums a bit more
The drums I got bored with pretty quickly even though I like them. Same sounds, not really big changes or progressions and some of the transitions are choppy especially into the new section. Check that, changing things up at 3:05 or so was neat, that worked well, but besides that.
The drum programming drops some energy which sort of makes me lose my attention. Most of it flows really well, especially the first 30 seconds, but there are some drop outs that just kill the momentum a bit too much
Lot of work to do to polish it up, but could be a damn, the drum sounds work together really well, got some serious beats in there. Nice work!

The ae elements are there in the beginning, the short repeating melody, the slow pad and the disjointed beat. But structurally it sounds more like an Aphex style track particularly after the first minute and a half.
I have written more than this twice and managed to lose it twice. So it will have to stick as this.
It's quite good but could do with more work. :P

Thanks for listening you three :D
qrter: I see what you mean about stopping at the 2:00 minute mark. Soemthing I need to remember is that tunes don't always need to be longer to be better :P
sanguine: Mastering is something that I'm getting the hang of still. So I'm not surprised that was mentioned :P
With the drums I'm seeing that I need to make more variation as people are mentioning repeating ideas.
ecnadniarb: Thanks for being trooper and writing it more than twice mate :)
I'm definitely going to work on this track and take people comments into account.
Thanks again to you all for listening :)

Doesn't mean you need more variation, just needs to flow better... most people don't understand that
It SOUNDS like it's repeating, a transition or two that bring in a new element subtlely gets your mind on that and then back to the original drumbeat, maybe with a really tiny change, and you're back on track. There are lots of tricks to keeping it interesting, and it isn't easy. Heck, I can barely pull it off and it takes me a long ass time to get it to sound right. That's only because my ear has developed a lot in the past few months, I'm getting a feel for what to listen for.
Just experiment with some ideas, it'll come!

I'm getting you. My original problem was that I was only really using one program which meant I was limited. Now I'm using two programs. One for doing the tune then another for post processing :) That's helped. I'll have to practise making the flow of tracks work. HARD!

The remix I just did is a good example, there isn't a ton of variation but I concentrated on the transitions and adding and subtracting parts in a way that didn't sound looped, the backbeat stays exactly the same for the entire track
