i don't listen to much punk, but i like the sex pistols,
refused and the occassional nofx song.. etc.. new school
punk sucks for the most part.. and almost all punk has
horrible singing.

i listen to a lot of old school punk and hardcore. i love
black flag, dks, minor threat, germs, misfits, scratch acid,
wipers, and a ton of other bands. i don't listen to any new
stuff, though.

and i'd also like to point out that old school punk music
doesn't have horrible singing - most of the bands were
pretty melodic in their singing styles, and the ones that
weren't were extremely innovative and it worked anyway. but
again, you wouldn't know it if you were just listening to
the standard pop shit around today.

I like some of the newer punk stuff, but I heard Dead
Kennedies once and I'm sorry but they were the worst band
I've ever heard.

race" and then they hit it
excellent :)

i had a great friend that introduced me into punk
music...unfortunately he died about 10 years ago, when he
was 17 or 18 - first some guys trashed his head at some
party, then police came and instead of taking him to
hospital they put him in a van (not sure why, they thought
he was drunk or something) and drive around to fuck him up
even more...he was in such a bad condition when they came to
hospital there was nothing else doctors could do :(

New punks ruined it for me. Its all poser shit now. I hate
it so much now.

D.R.I and the fits are always good.

But for the record I'd sooner associate myself with Britney
Spears then "Punk *tee hee!*" these days.

Bands like Hot Water Music, Strike Anywhere, Sunny Day Real
Estate, Cadillac Blindside, Hey Mercedes, Braid, The Get up
Kids/Reggie and the Full effect, Koufax. That about sums up
the "punk" bands I still listen to. (Most of these are
releases on a pretty large scale of time, so by "new punk" I
meant anything post 70's and 80's hairband punk).

Also they comprise substyles of punk, such as "hardcore" and
"indie"... whatever those are supposed to mean.

offspring and the like are not even pop-punk, they're just
straight up pop.

good you're not denying!!

Went to a party
I danced all night
I drank 16 beers
And I started up a fight
But now I'm jaded
You're out of luck
I'm rolling down the stairs
Too drunk to fuck
Too drunk to fuck
Too drunk to fuck
Too drunk
To fuck
I'm too drunk, too drunk, too drunk
To fuck

I just got the new Reggie and the Full Effect CD (Under the
Tray). It's not anywhere as good as I hoped it would be,
most of Reggie's stuff kicks ass, but this song has some
decent tunes on it. Overall there is just too much fooling
around and too many songs that lean toward "emo"
