I'd have to say the best gamecube game I've played so far
is either mario sunshine, metroid prime, or zelda. What are
some other great GC games I'm missing out on?

Super Monkey Ball.
SSX3.
Soulo Calibur 2.

All better than those three you mentioned IMO.

Metroid Prime is really freakin nice, graph and gameplay.

Mario is quite a chalange it seems, i only played it for
alittle while (just got it)

Zelda dissapointed me allot, i think it's nothing compared
to Ocarina of time

dont you just hate his gayed up face ?

Refund's right Zephyr... even if you don't like the single
player, the multi player games are excellent. SSX3 is very
good too... they seem to of learnt how to inroduce a bit of
longevity from the THPS games :)

Monkey Target = The only way to survive the wait for
pilotwings (which now looks like it'll slip to the next
Nintendo system).

Yeah, even my flatmates last year who weren't into
videogames loved that... monkey fight is so simple "pick up
and play", mates can learn how to play in seconds making it
ideal for post pub gaming.

I was jokingly pointing out that your innability to
appreciate games "for kids" (despite the fact that Super
Monkey Ball is one of the hardest games ever...) is likely
to be reflected in the sort of films you watch and you
probably only watch graphic, violent and sexually explicit
films. Of course, I don't think you do really...

I do think Nintendo's policy on no violent games is a bit
gash (as it means no GTA Vice City etc. despite them being
happy to have Resident Evil Zero), but that's not to say
that the games on it are all "kiddie".

I appreciated games for kids when I was a kid, becoming an
"adult" sadly opened me up to everything that is wrong in
this world. But hey, as long as there are tities & music &
mental illness I'll still be here!

I cant say I favour graphic, violent and sexually explicit
films, I did when I was a kid though.

My little brother loves his Gaycube & thats what counts,
isn't it! I have to say Mariokart Double dash looks cool!

I bought my bro Wave Race Blue Storm and James Bond - Agent
Under Fire for crimbo, I hope these games are good, does
anyone have either of these?

I played the first bond game to come out on the PS2 ages ago
& me being a hardcore Goldeneye/Perfect Dark nut at the time
thought it was pretty lame.

Gamecubes are for just under 15 year olds......get a life.
Up until last week I had two consoles, and I sold my PS2 cos
I dont use it. The Gamecube is the only console I need, and
it far superior to the PS2 in my opinion. And before another
says "DVDs??" Fuck off I say.....anyone like me who has/had
one, will know that the PS2 does a gobshite job of playing
DVDs....

:D

have better libraries.

" the PS2 does a gobshite job of playing

So true.. I haven't seen the xbox's dvd player in action,
but PS2's is shittylame, and who doesn't already have a DVD
player anyway? The fact that gamecube doesn't have one isn't
a detractor at all, IMO.

Gamecube for kiddies? People who say that probably aren't
mature enough yet to appreciate nintendo's appeal ;-)

My favourites:

animal crossing
the wind waker
f-zero gx
mario kart dd
super monkey ball

Somehow i can't really get into metroid prime. Quite a
mystery, that. I love the graphics and music... they create
such an isolated atmosphere. The controls are superb too...
better than in any other fps I've ever played. But for some
reason I've hardly been playing it at all :-s
It just doesn't grab me like other metroid's did.

Amen to that twice. Blood and guts and tits and swearing do
not a mature game make. Nintendo has a subtle little magic
to their games, neanderthals need not apply.

But that said, the third party support for Gamecube is
atrocious. The first party games are top drawer quality. But
most good games for the GC not made by Nintendo are on the
Xbox with smoother framerates and higher resolutions.

I just picked up Super Mario Sunshine preowned for 25
bucks.. I LOVE this game! It's kind of like Super Mario 64
with insane graphics. I like how the premise of both games
is going around collecting "stars" (shine sprites in
SunShine) while exploring different worlds, except that
Sunshine has a nice twist on it with the FLUDD. This is a
topnotch platformer, IMO. :)

Super Monkey Ball 1...

The sequel has more games/better versions (bar monkey
target, I prefer the SMB 1 version of that) of the
multiplayer games, but the single player mode is better in
the first game in my opinion... the first one is more about
pure skill and dexterity- it's usually obvious what you have
to do to complete the level. The second one is a bit
different (I suppose they were trying to move it
forwards/develop the idea), it's generally more puzzley and
many rounds require several goes to work out the timing/best
route, but once you know it are easy to complete.

"This is a topnotch platformer, IMO. :)"

Yeah, but Mario64 is still better. I agree fludd is a great
addition. It makes you much more confident when doing
dangerous jumps because you can always steer a little and
save yourself if something goes wrong. Just like the
racoon-tail and the cape used to do in 2d-mariogames :-)

I don't really like the fludd as a weapon though... i prefer
just jumping on the enemies.

SMS also has some parts that are just too damn
frustrating... you'll see. Also there are not enough
different levels (imo), a shocking lack of variety (yes you
too will grow to hate the tropical theme :-p), and after
finishing all the levels, collecting all the 120 shines is
very tedious.

Still a great game though. I should play through it again
sometime soon.
