"You getting any new games?"
Yeah, i always have a ton of games i want ;-)
A virtual boy with a few games is on it's way to me.
For snes i'm trying to find a not too expensive copy of super metroid.
And if you're asking about new games: I want to get Mario&Luigi superstar sage for GBA asap, that games looks really really great :-)
Also viewtiful joe when it comes out. And probably also kirby airride, altough IGN didn't seem to like it.

man.. i was just reading up on crystal chronicles and this is what I found "You may say to yourself that Crystal Chronicles sounds like a Final Fantasy without the RPG element and that is exactly what it is." I am DYING for a good RPG on the gamecube (especially one from SQUARE!) but the whole having to buy a GBA thing is absolutely ridiculous, and I don't know if I'll like it as much as an adventure game than a true RPG...
Surrounded: Aye, there are some frustrating parts in SMS, but overall the beautiful, glistening graphics and the same style of explorable 3d worlds are enough of a hook for me. Mario 64 is a classic but I'm a graphic freak and this game is enough to make me never want to go back! :D
Anyone play Robotech for Gamecube? Its 17 bucks at my game store, was thinking about picking it up if it's any good ;)

"the whole having to buy a GBA thing is absolutely ridiculous"
I think that was just a rumor though. Some japanese guy said they had designed the game to played with a GBA, ideally with more than 1 person at the same time. But nevertheless it would still be possible to play it on your own with a gamecube-controller.
I don't know how interested I am though... with every update i read about it's starting to sound more like an action-game :-s
"overall the beautiful, glistening graphics"
I must admit the water looks gorgeous in that game. Especially in one of the hidden bonus-levels, which is sort of a river floating in the sky... it looks good enough to drink! Amazing!
But other than that I wasn't that impressed with the graphics. They don't look enough "mario" for me. Things like the harbor, or delphinoplaza... they're so realistic. Where has the magical mushroom kingdom gone?
Don't know anything about that robotech game, sorry

I loved the graphics in SMS, they made me thirsty. And they stimulated my tastebuds somehow. The gameplay never grabbed me though, it was a bit of a disapointment. Above avergae platformer though. The atmosphere and environment really let me down. Mario should not fly around in a fucking plane. Ever.
Viewtiful Joe, I think it's pretty lackluster. Simple buttonmashing gameplay and rudimentary platforming glitzed up with fancy graphics and effects. I kept thinking how much I'd rather have Mega Man X7 (izzat any good?).

"I loved the graphics in SMS"
Mario Kart looked alot better. Alot! That's what a mario-game should look like. On that one circuit, with the goombas on the road... i always feel a huge urge to park by the side of the road, get out of the kart and start jumping on the goombas.
The best parts of SMS are by far those bonus-levels where your fludd gets stolen. Hardcore platform-action! I haven't played anything like that since Super Mario Bros 3. A whole game like that would be like a dream come true. And the music in those levels... :-D !!!!

I was thinking the same thing. I couldn't wait to get started on those levels, and I wished I could replay them in some bonus mode when I was done. Or unlock some more or something.
A Mario game like those older Crash Bandicoots... 3D platforming but WITHOUT the exploration and open endedness could be fun. Just following a course and kicking some Koopa butt and and traversing crazy terrain. Could be tons of fun, though it'd be a bit of a step backwards.

"A Mario game like those older Crash Bandicoots"
I haven't played those but...
"3D platforming but WITHOUT the exploration and open endedness"
...I know exactly what you mean! Ofcourse I understand it's alot more work to build an entire 3D world, and therefor the 3d-platform games can't have 96 different levels... but still. Returning to the same level 8 times, only to find different goals... it's just not the same. Both mario64 & sms are brilliant games for sure, but gameplay-wise, they're hardly still related to what mario used to be all about.
"Just following a course and kicking some Koopa butt and and traversing crazy terrain."
I get excited just thinking about it! Man, that would be so great. If they pulled it off right, and they'd just make it FUN... i'm sure nobody would be complaining about a lack of innovation.
Besides, retrogaming is becoming more popular everyday. Maybe people just want to take a few steps backwards.
Bad news about the Viewtiful Joe by the way :-( I was looking forward to that one!
"Simple buttonmashing gameplay"
But what about the slowdown-effects? The viewtiful combos?! Is it really nothing more than a simple beat'em up?! sniff :-(

"Both mario64 & sms are brilliant games for sure, but gameplay-wise, they're hardly still related to what mario used to be all about."
I feel exactly the same. Thinking about it now, I wish you could still punch and kick and shit like you could in Mario 64. Overall, I think the gameplay is pretty darn good in SMS.. I like how creatively the enemies/NPCs were programmed to react to the FLUDD... The "shock koopa" turtles that get shocked by their own shells and the awesome slime and water graphics seem to make me forget that I'm just a glorified janitor. :) How bout the metal bowser fight in pinna? Now that is some hardcore mario action! :D
"I don't know how interested I am though... with every update i read about it's starting to sound more like an action-game"
That's exactly what I'm saying! I wish Squaresoft would just bring back the old magic for the Gamecube rather than try to create something new.. I won't know until I play it, but it's probably going to be pretty bland. :P
Some shpongle outbid me on SSX3. I don't have enough money to bid more =/

I work at a movie theatre, and during the previews of LOTR3, there was a commercial/trailer for FF: the Crystal Chronicles. I must say, the game has at the very least, impressive graphics and music. I definately want to check it out when it arrives. I hope the gameplay is like legends of mana if it insists on having realtime fighting =P.

I've got Metroid right now, but haven't even started it! (i'm pretty excited - well, actually I've played a bit into the game before, so I know what to expect, but it's been a while!)
I've been playing Mario Sunshine, Zelda, and Rogue Leader so far, haven't really had time to jump back in to Samus' suit! :D

As a marble maddness veteran I found it a bit too easy at first and thought the claims of difficulty were exaggerated. Towards the end of advanced difficulty level it gets a bit harder and right at the start (level 7) of expert it gets pretty tricky. It's also a game that has a huge amount of replay value- complete a mode without losing a life and you unlock further levels for that mode.

I laugh at people who think 'cute' games are for kids. Most 'cute' games are so brainrackingly hard it's great.
most adult themed games are just too simple to keep my attention for longer than an hour. It's good to pick up and blast something, don't get me wrong.
True crime is the roughest game out at the moment. really nothing too it.
Pikmin and animal crossing are great!

my advice would be to either finish or set aside the other games while you play metroid. totally emerse yourself in it..
