because of a severe case of procrastination i have
contracted this semester, i have been up all night typing a
paper that is due in about an hour. the paper is finished,
but after i hand in the paper i have a final for another
class, which i am in no shape to take right now. so, i
think i'm going to skip my final and sleep and when i wake
up i'm going to email my professor and tell him that i fell
asleep on the subway and ended up an hour away from school
so i couldn't make it to the final. is this a good idea or
am i delirous from lack of sleep, or just lazy?

If this final is important you might as well just go and get
it over with. When you start the test the time will
probably just fly anyway.

I remember being so tired in a test that I vomitted all over
the place :D It got me out of it and I was allowed to resit
later...which I didn't do because I left.

Suffering from procrastination?

Does this mean you spent more time saying you were going to
do it than you actually spent doing it?

I suffer from that.

I agree...just don't say whose mother has died. Then after
you sleep murder someones mum and you are laughing.

You're lazy and you'd also be dishonest if you told him you
fell asleep on the subway :P

Be honest, they're (academics are) usually reasonable people
compared to bosses at work.

I'm working hard at the moment and will be up most of
tonight and probably most of the next night too. Things have
been further compounded by our stupid students union
approving the use of our carpark for some event on the two
days I have to go to hand work in... as a result I'll either
have to park illegally and hope I don't get fined or clamped
or go in about an hour earlier (I already get up at 6.30)
and park miles away and walk in.

Actually do it before you sleep because you can plead
diminished responsibility due to tiredness and
procrastination.

that won't work i've already killed off one great
grandmother and one grandpa, and both of those really
happened. i have no chance of getting above a "D" on this
exam, so delirious or not, i'm going to skip the exam. i
shold mention that i have an "A" average, and am a 3rd year
undergrad....god. i'm a fuck up though.

Park illegally and stick a notein the window of the car
saying your are a disabled and you have gone to chase after
someone who opened your passenger door and stole your fake
legs.

I've been meaning to ask my mate with multiple sclerosis if
I can borrow his disabled sticker from his car to make a
copy for a while now... seems to be the only way to get a
parking spot unless you fancy a three mile walk (inevitably
through driving rain and howling wind in pontypridd) from
the town centre.

You should do it. Abusing disabled priviledges is the only
option for inner city parking these days.

your allowed to pretend to be ill once in a while, you're
human, use your guilt as motivation to ace it next time

My roomate just slept through a final, though he didn't feel
well.

I almost punched him for being such a sack, but believe it
or not, his prof is letting him take the exam wednesday.

Man, that should be an automatic zero on final, F in class,
but profs these days don't give a shit, jeezus

Yep... on my degree, unless you have "mitigating
circumstances" you fail the degree if you miss an exam/don't
hand coursework in (during the final year). No pussying
about- no resists, that's it, you wasted 4 years of your
life, thank you, goodbye...

It's harsh, but fair. I think not having criteria like that
cheapens degrees.
