videogame of all time in your eyes?
For me it has to be pipedreams. Excellent frantic puzzler, up there with tetris in purity of design. One of those games there's no way you could improve upon. This particualr one has been mimicked dozens of times, yet no one seems to ever mention it in their lists of favourite games, despite it appearing on loads of formats.

Although I don't think that the word "underrated" has any meaning, I'll have to say Dynamite Headdy for the Megadrive/Genesis.

Whilst underrated tends to be a bit nonsensical when refering to something that is merely a matter of taste (eg "chocolate is underrated in my opinion"), when it is something that has been imitated countless times and yet the original is seldom acknowledged I think it's fair to use it.

I made a version of that on the spectrum with even worse graphics... it had a bug whereby if you timed it right you could get outside the barriers and ski unhindered down the mountain :D

I had it on the Spectrum. Never tied to fuck with the coding though. Think I might crank out the Spectrum once again.

The original GTA is often underrated by GTA 3 and Vice City players. In some ways, GTA is a better game proving that realism doesn't make essential gaming.
Head over Heals on the Amstrad CPC was truely great. I completed it but only with 2 crowns... (sigh)

Agreed about Dynamite Headdy. Another game that has dropped off the face of the earth is Gunstar Heroes, also by Treasure.
And I really loved Zombies Ate My Neighbours.
And though it may not exactly be underrated, I can't believe Shining Force hasn't had a sequel since the damn Saturn days.
