hmmm, I can appreciate good pop music, even cheap, cheesy
pop music, but this is just crap in my opinion... could
never stand it much...

a guy I used to know has a U2 bootleg which has a live
version of Dancing Queen that they did... funny stuff! :)

not as annoying as the pop of today, but i still would not
listen to it if i had the choice

ABBA was one of the first bands I was heavily exposed to as
a kid and I've never disliked them. Dancing Queen is lush!

You can't call Abba crap, even if you don't like them. I
don't listen to them (too many work Christmas parties with
40 year olds bellowing along to them), but I recognise that
their songwriting skills were exceptional. A parallel is the
Bee Gees (early stuff) who have been similarly saturated but
also had brilliant songwriting talent.

I'll call em crap if I wanna!! :P

I don't know though, you talk about their song writing
skills... but everything I've heard by them sounds almost
the same... shrug...

I just love ABBA, it's pure pop perfection <333

Well of course their stuff mostly sounds similar, they had a
distinctive style... I'm not the biggest Abba fan so I'm not
going to pontificate on the direction their career went,
heh. All I know is that in pop single terms some of their
tracks are excellent, some of them quite subversive too,
there's a darker undercurrent to Abba's stuff which belies
their sparkling superficiality... ok that's enough methinks!
