today i d/l a win2000pro from *cough*kazaa i didnt realise
its a network based window program i want to get rid of it
and put ME back on because 2000 is not what i need

my problem is that i cannot format the drive with the normal
methods
i.e format c:

the file system on the hard drive is now NTFS

any thoughts on what i can do to format it?

u-oh

would be my first thought.
create a boot disc, check it works!, then
eliminate the partition w2k is on and then reinstall ME.

w2k is way better than ME though, i switched a few weeks ago
and its the first time i'm satisfied with m$

First things first. DON'T, FOR THE LOVE OG GOF, USE WINDOWS
ME!

Stay with 2000. Networking isn't what you need? Nor is it
for a lot of people who use 2000. STAY WITH IT

you can do it with w2k itself but be sure to have an
alternative

i cant find that damn program right now but it comes with
the w2k default installation

if you have a bootable win me disc, just use fdisk from
win2k if it works to delete the partition. then boot and
install from win me.

if you don't, try downloading a win me bootable FLOPPY disc
image from the net, create an me startup floppy and use that
to format the drive.

i hate ntfs, it's always a source of problems when it comes
to formatting. I'll never ever in my entire life use ntfs
again. EVER!

fuck you ntfs! I wish upon you a slow and painful death
