And yeah Matrix Reloaded and probably the new one suck,

it didn't suck.

as long as M3 is mostly ass kicking and explosions and um...
robots kicking ass and blowing shit up.. and oh yeah.. punk
ass inocents getting wacked.. and hmm.. uh.. guns shooting
the hell out of shit... and dudes getting all filled with
holes.. and maybe some more guys getting chopped with sharp
things...
oh and lots of computer geeks wearing dark sunglasses.. and
some fine asses packed into vinyl pants..

if it has that, i will be happy.

some tits would be nice too but you can't have everything i

I watched the full trailer for Revolutions and it holds no
surprises. They should've quit after the first one, not only
because Reloaded was a pile of wank but the small amount of
mystique that added to the original will be obliterated in a
set of uninspired and laughable plot revelations. Oh, Neo
meets the "brain" of the machines? You do surprise me. I
expected something more from what I thought were
groundbreaking film makers.

i think people's expectations were crazy for the matrix
sequels.

i mean, it's not like my mind imploded on itself and ran out

I loved the first one.

I enjoyed the second one. Something missing there. They got
too involved in their own grand ideas. Bollocks was it
written at the same time. They might've written more than
was in the first Matrix but bollocks was it what they
filmed. I'm looking forward to the next one but only in the
hope that it makes the annoyances of reloaded go away. BEst
be the pay off that Silver is boasting about. I want
something fucking cool to happen. I don't want it to just be
good. I want it to be excellent. At the moment I'm expecting
a so-so film. FUCKING DELIVER ON THE PROMISE YOU GAVE WITH
THE FIRST ONE!

so somehow, you have the inside scoop on these plot
revilations?

please elaborate. if it is indeed as predictable as you
imply, let's have some predictions.

i just think that if anyone sets themselves up to hate M3,
then there is no way to go into it with an open, unbiased
opinion of the movie. Lets not forget, that these
essentially are action films and all of them have at least
that. anything else is just frosting on the cake.

i understand however, that not everybody likes the
metaphorical cake, so i assume they won't go back for 3rds
if they know they will hate it right?
just let the rest of us eat our cake. i like cake. mmm...
matrix cake... mmm

it's a good thing that not everyone feels the same about
everything.

if you liked the matrix & reloaded, sweet, kick it in here
and spout your geektacular thoughts on it.

that seems like it'll make for a more enjoyable thread for

as I’ve said before, I’m relatively skeptical
about whether or not neo is actually ‘the one’.

the whole basis for the trilogy is that there is a prophecy
that someone will come along who will defeat the machines
and free the humans. morpheus was told he would find the
one, trinity was told that she would fall in love with the
one, and neo has been told that he WAS NOT the one.

even though there is a small amount of doubt in my mind that
the oracle can be believed, I am running on the assumption
that she is telling the truth. she told neo what he needed
to hear, then at the end of the first film we were lead to
believe that he was the one and that she was simply playing
her role. I think she was playing her part, but, I also
think she was being honest when she said neo didn’t
have it.

neo obviously has powers that most humans do not have. this
could possibly be explained a couple of different ways, one;
all humans possess this potential, he is just enlightened to
this fact and uses it. or two; he is a powerful
anomaly in the system… just not the one.
personally, I’d prefer it if it were the second.

so, if neo’s not the one but somebody is, who does
this leave? someone that morpheus found, and that trinity
is/has been/or will be in love with. it could be agent
smith/bane. I mean, morpheus found neo, and neo
may’ve been responsible for freeing agent smith*.
and, if smith’s power grows to the point where he
destroys the matrix, and somehow doesn’t kill all the
humans connected to it, he will be responsible for freeing
them. I’m not sure about the whole trinity must love
him thing, but it could be that she crosses over to become a
bad guy (I doubt it), or maybe her and bane had some sort of
fling before he was possessed by smith (kinda
unlikely)… I guess we’ll just have to see.

or maybe trinity is the one, since morpheus found her, and
maybe part of the end game is that she’s going to

have to learn to love herself, or some other sentimental
crap. or, maybe ‘the one’ is going to
be formed by a merger of some of the characters. who knows,
I’m just putting myself on the record as saying that
I’m skeptical that neo is going to end up being the
one.

*smith mentions that ever since he was inside of neo
something has changed with him. I think some of neo’s
humanity, or oneness rubbed off on him. and conversely,
some of smith’s program was left inside of neo, hence
how he was able to destroy those sentinels in the real
world. I don’t buy the whole zion is a matrix within
the matrix even though it makes sense.

interesting theory. i hadn't considered Smith might be The
One.

i still like the idea that zion is just a holding world for
programs that don't accept the matrix. they DO however
accept Zion because they think it's the real world.

since the oracle is part of the system it is suspicious that
she would help the humans to defeat the machines. it would,
however, make sense that she would help them to defeat Smith
if Smith was a threat to the system. i suspect the oracle
has some alterior motive like this because the end of the
matrix would mean the end of the oracle.

maybe The One doesn't exist at all, like Niobe suggests in
the preview. It would then make more sense that the oracle
is not making prophecies but rather just guessing trends in
the system based on her knowledge of past versions. she
then makes "prophecies" to use Neo and his companions as
pawns to achieve her own ends.

regardless, i'm excited for it.

yeah, that's theory makes a lot of sense, but i just think
that would be kindof a shitty way to end the series.

in that theory zion is an error checking device for those
humans who do reject the 'reality' of the matrix. a way for
the machines to allow for the humans to think they've
escaped, but still keep them plugged in. it would explain
how neo destroyed the sentinels and how smith was able to
escape. but, it would kindof make all the fighting and
resistance pointless.

i'm torn on whether or not to believe what the oracle says .
but, i'm afraid if the w. brothers play her as a control
program built into the matrix, which makes morpheus and his
followers pawns, they'll have a hard time tieing up all of
the loose ends in one film. and if they leave it as an open
ended loop scenerio it won't fulfill the 'to be concluded'
promise of reloaded.

neo appears to be talking to the real controler of the
matrix in the trailer. this is intriguing, because he is
saying that smith has become to strong for the machines to
control and that he will destroy the matrix. but, if the
machines allow neo to stop smith then you have to assume the
matrix will survive. if the matrix survives then chances
are they'll continue to try to destroy zion... unless neo
negotiates some sort of truce. if there's a truce between
the matrix and zion then zion kinda becomes a bad guy,
because they allow all the other humans to remain captive.
and, if the machines don't stop destroying zion then either
neo has to enter the mainframe or the entire matrix crashes
and both sides are destroyed, or the humans win and the
matrix is destroyed, and the humans re-inherit the earth.

seems like a no-win situation for the poor old machines.

also, if a rogue program such as smith could evolve from the
matrix and destroy it and himself, what makes it so
inconcievable that a program could evolve and help the
humans escape, thus destroying the matrix?

maybe she's the yin to smiths yang...

hell, i don't know... i just really enjoy speculating about
this movie really.

there's another discussion going on over HERE.

actually, i've been discussing this on three other boards
since reloaded came out. i've never seen one movie that
generated so freakin' much talk among geeks. i'd say, for
that simple fact the matrix deserves some sort of credit...
good or bad.

Of Neo is, as they say, a reincarnation then surely it's
possible that Trinity nad Morpheus are too. That means that
when the Oracle told them what he did then she was telling
the truth. It's just not relative to them currently. Neo is
a true anomaly to the system and isn't really the one.
