Does anyone DnB MC here?

I've been working on some DnB tracks I'm quite proud of and
once they're polished up a bit may even send to some record
labels.

Just wondering if anyone here was any cop at DnB MCing as
the few people who do it IRL that I know are embarrasingly
bad...

I was hoping to give you the mp3s of the tracks and if you
could give me an acappella .wav of your mcing to the track I
could mix it back into the main track?

Email me if you're interested.

Ceri,

I just thought you made ambient tracks? You could probably
download some acappella stuff off the internet.

Erm, no I've not heard them... you got some links?

Last time I was DJing a paid gig I had to use the mic a lot
for announcements etc. and whilst I got adept at timing it
with breaks in vocals on tracks, I don't think I could ever
actually "MC" live.

He he nope- a lot of my recent stuff has been ambient, but I
do all sorts, trip hop, glitch, drill and bass etc. Recently
I've been on a Dnb spate and have really gotten into it,
although my dnb synth work is still a bit lacking (snags
with vaz making it hard to get sh-101 type sounds...)

BTW I have been using acapella stuff cut up and samples from
royalty free sample packs, but ideally I'd like a half
decent mc to provide some MCing specifically to one of my
tracks.

I like MCs who show some restraint and actually play "with"
the DJ- sometimes the DJ will play an instrumental beat that
is crying out for some and they'll just sit there... other
times they won't shut up over vocals that are already on a
track. I think when done correctly it can really add some
energy to a track and stop the beat getting repetative.

Glad to see that you won that one with your beatboxing/mcing
skills. However, for this project I was hoping for something
a bit more rough edged and aggressive... something to really
get the crowd into it... any takers?

yeah, sometimes they can be good, but if anything goes on
too long it gets annoying, for me anyway. guess ive seen
some shit mcs! i've seen some of the famous ones too though;
skibadee, dynamite etc, who are definately much better, but
they still annoy me after a little while.

k-rock has to be the funniest mc i've ever heard, man hes
good! specialy when he was mcing over aphex at the ocean!

Yeah, I was spoilt a bit being in Bristol for a year, we
tended to get the cream of the crop (both DJs and MCs there)
and compared to DnB in Cardiff it was much better.

I think the whole MC thing has become fashionable recently
but for a long time I thought it was mega cheesy. Just
didn't like MCing at all.
